The pork porridge base is precooked, and the century egg is not cooked into the porridge. As such the service is incredibly quick
Super smooth, quite sticky, quite flavourful but in a significantly different way than most. Idk if there's sugar inside but the taste is unique yet familiar and comforting.
However service is another story. They're adamant you can't add abit of everything, instead you must add the full portion of at least one type of topping. I guess that's the reason for the low rating?
This was a great dish to have for lunch on a rainy day. Porridge was cooked wonderfully, and served smooth to the point where you cannot taste the individual rice grains in the dish. The sesame oil provided a wonderful taste and aroma to the dish. Fish portion was generous, although I thought the fish still had a slightly fishy taste. š Overall still an exceptional dish nonetheless!
We ordered the Fried Intestine Porridge ($5/7) and the porridge is really smooth and flavourful. The paper-thin fried intestines are crispy and fragrant, and they add a nice crunch to the velvety porridge.
Probably a master. They cook a large pot as a base for whatever you order. It also had that strong flavour unique to Cantonese congee. Meat was decent. The negativity came in the form of the stallholder, who blamed me after mishearing my order. For that I don't think I'll eat it again. That should emphasise how important service is.
Porridge was flavourful and healthy. Costs $3 with shredded chicken and $4 for pork slice.
I generally dislike porridge and only eat it when Iām sick. But this is the only one I will eat when Iām well.
It looked plain and unappetizing, but the taste was top notch. Lovely sesame oil aroma. The porridge was smooth and well seasoned. Lots of shredded chicken meat inside. I think it was thigh meat.
