Known for being the first few spots to offer Salted Egg Mala (yes, you heard that right), this eatery in Queenstown might just be your new go-to lunch spot! You won't go wrong with their Mala Pork Belly Rice Set ($5) which sees their TGG signature mala pork tossed with broccoli and potato, and Salted Egg Chicken Rice Set ($5). Other must-trys include the Mentaiko Salmon Rice Set ($7) and Soy Garlic Ribeye Beef Rice Set ($6).
Three Good Guys, famous for being the first place in Singapore to offer Salted Egg Mala Xiang Guo, has come up with a Mala Party Platter during this period. The platter consists of Mala Chicken Wings, Mala Chicken Cubes, Mala King Oyster Mushrooms and Diced Grilled Potatoes, and is available in both full or half portions.
Being a huge fan of mala, i was really excited to try the platter, and it certainly met my expectations! Each ingredient was well seasoned, fragrant and backed with a spicy kick. Best to pair it with a bowl of steamed rice or noodles for a gratifying meal!
The Mala Party Platter is available for islandwide delivery, and you can dm them at their IG/FB page to order.
Got straw mushroom, a couple of vegetables and maggie mee. The star is definitely the rich and creamy salted egg sauce. So good that we were mopping up all that cholesterol goodness after emptying the bowl.
Paid around $12 per pax even tho we ordered 3 pax portion for 4 ppl as recommended
The salted egg yolk mala tastes more like carbonara rather than salted egg yolk although there are several chunks of salted egg seen. The ingredients soak up the salted egg sauce which was not bad BUT the noodles were $2 per portion- extremely pricey if u ask me. Ended up eating dessert afterwards because it was not that filling... oops
We also waited 30-40mins even tho it was not peak hour and we were the only ones ordering food.
Overall not that bad but I most probably wouldn’t have it again. Can consider for the hype of salted egg mala.
Looking for something other than your regular Ma-La Hotpot? Then perhaps you can consider Three Good Guys located at Golden Mile Food Centre. Here they serve it with 4 different bases, Ma-La, Gongbao, Salted Egg & Garlic.
Their signature item is the Salted Egg base which is extremely rich in flavours. The noodles soaked up the essence of the rich aromatic Salted Egg sauce. In true entrepreneurs' spirit, the Three Good Guys are always developing new bases, and had recently came out with the Garlic base, which is fragrant and non spicy.
Mala Pork Set ($6.90):
The ingredients used are very fresh! Ordered Very Spicy (大辣) Level and I have to say it is SPICY!(even for someone who can take spice well) having said that, it is quite well balanced. Would definitely be back for their Medium level of spiciness 😂
