A surprising find of superb value - the katsudon set ($15++) comes with salad, miso soup, chawanmushi and dessert of the day! The katsudon was tender with a crisp batter, silky eggs and savoury onions beneath. A hearty spread of great quality.
Ordered my beef don RARE and received..... This. Sent it back, came back pretty much the same medium well the second time round. Gave up asking. Staff don't speak English (could not understand what I meant by rare - had to speak in mandarin 🙄🙄).

Styled after the Kushiyaki / Yakitori bars of Tokyo, this little gem of a restaurant is located in a corner of CHIJMES, Singapore.
They do an excellent chicken skewer, smoky with a sweet savoury glaze, moist tender meat that comes off easily.
Succulent cubes of tender beef, savoury and meaty with a slight chew. The black pepper glaze gives it a nice hit of spice and some bite.
