With no shortage of quaint coffee shops to sit and sip along Keong Saik Road, The Daily Roundup’s interior boasts a lovely industrial yet cosy vibe. And when better to appreciate the space than when it’s dark and gloomy out, with a cup of hot tea to warm you up or a refreshing drink as a perfect accompaniment to our blazing afternoon sun.
Serving a sweet variety of crêpes, the Berries ($14) comes with a medley of seasonal berries, creme Chantilly, caramelised almonds and red fruit coulis. A good balance of tanginess and do remember to couple that with a scoop of Vanilla Bean ($4) ice cream to amp up the factor of lusciousness. The crêpe itself, made with premium wheat flour was distinctly light and slightly stretchy when pulled apart. Though the price is the main deterrence for me, their Roselle Hibisus Iced Tea ($8) was a thirst-quenching concoction to wash the crêpes down!
"Made with premium wheat flour and infused with artisanal butter by Jean-Yves Bordier", my crepe was paper-thin and just ever so slightly stretchy when pulled apart, which is what a good crepe should be like. As for the housemade caramel sauce, it was delicious, but no trace of salt could be found. I recommend adding on a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream($4) to up the indulgence factor.
Taste: 3.5/5
Brought my crepe-loving niece here and she really enjoyed this — hard to go wrong with their fragrant crepe drizzled with chocolate sauce and lots of crispy chocolate pearls. Tried the yuzu butter ($12) and salted caramel ($12) too and both were nice, though the adults didn’t feel satiated (thankfully there’s the ever-reliable Foong Kee across 😂). Also had the cold brew ($8), but found it a little too sweet for my liking. #BurppleXChope
Ordered the salted caramel crepes ($12), which were delicious. However, it went downhill from there, with both the earl grey passionfruit iced tea ($8) and housemade ginger beer with honey ($8) failing to impress. Would not return
I chose the Sweet Chocolate Crêpe ($12) + Vanilla Bean Ice Cream ($4), which had tiny crunchy chocolate pearls and chocolate sauce made of Valrhona cocoa powder and 70% cacao chocolate.

Quaint café to spend a rare free afternoon. Their sweet set at $14 which is available only on weekdays is very value for money; the berries crêpe is already $14 plus hot latte at $5.50 😄 Wanna be back soon to try their savory crêpes.
