Beef Rendang ($36)
Presenting tender chunks of Australian shin meat in a relatively thick coconut milk-based sauce enriched with aromatics like ginger, lemongrass, lime leaves and a dash of curry powder; the classic dish is a must-order as well. Not too in your face with the heat, I liked that their rendition is not as spicy so I can get the flavours of the beef and the spices.
Ngo Heong ($20)
A very nice starter, Blue Ginger’s signature came highly recommended and rightly so. Moist, juicy, and fried justsuperbly well; I like that the five-spiced golden brown rolls were not overly crispy or crusty. The beancurd skin was thin, moreish and not greasy at all. The chunks of savoury minced pork, succulent prawns and crunchy sweet chestnut were also wonderfully seasoned and fresh-tasting. Perfect with the sweet gooey black sauce served on the side.
This was so good! Durian paste and chendol go very well together. The durian paste was fragrant coconut milk was fresh, it's a good pairing!
Assam fish @ $28++
The assam curry is very nice. Generous amount of vegetables in the dish. Fish is also nice but slightly overcooked.
Ayam panggang @ $18++
Chicken is nice and tender and tasty with the spices.
Buah keluak fried rice @ $16.50++
Very yummy and delicious, umami just like how it's described in the menu.
