Mao Shan Wang croissants = heavenly mix of durian + cheese + buttery croissant and mine had a crisp maple bacon on top too. Very light and decadent, what a unique way to capture the king of all fruits

Worth every bite and every calorie! A box of 10 goes for $45, with delivery being $8.

Love the bits and small chunks of sticky dates amidst the light traditionally-doughnut-shaped cake! Though it was on the drier side, it wasnā€™t as dry as it looked and would be perfect with some toffee/caramel sauce or butterscotch ice cream šŸ˜šŸ˜ Nice as a small sweet quick pick-me-up on-the-go! šŸ’ØšŸ’Ø

A little treasure trove of baked goods, last weekā€™s @sugarthieves.co Omakase Picnic Box ($32) saw a wonderful mix of croissants, pastries and cakes.

Caramelized Onion Mushroom Tart - Topped with mushroom, mozzarella, and a generous layer of caramelized onions, the tart was fragrant, savoury, and sweet. The puff pastry was also buttery, light, and crisp after a quick pop into the oven.

Signature Carrot Bundt Cake - Chockfull of toasted mixed nuts, the mini bundt cake was lightly spiced and moist. Paired with lemon cream cheese and lemon pineapple curd which offered the perfect zing, the cake wasnā€™t cloying or overly sweet.

Levain Cookie - Soft, gooey, and lusciously chocolatey, the cookie was a classic done right. Best enjoyed warm, theĀ bigĀ pockets of melted chocolate were superbly good with the buttery cookie.

Ispahan Croissant - A foolproof combination done on a freshly baked croissant, Sugar Thievesā€™ rendition uses rose cream, raspberry jam, and lychee bits. The floral-fruity number wasnā€™t too sweet for me even with the sugary glaze and was nicely balanced with the buttery pastry in my opinion.

Spring Onion Croissant - My second time having this and I am still loving the punchyĀ aroma ofĀ spring onions and the slight tang from the sour cream on their croissant.

Had been eyeing on the omakase croissant box by @sugarthieves.co for the longest time ever as I am always awed by the creativity they inject into the croissant flavours and of course, the surprise element. Thanks to the boyf who protected my croissants with his life while running in the downpour. šŸ˜

In my croissant box last week, there were:

šŸ„ Truffle. Twice-baked croissant with truffled mushroom pate filled within, exuding the strong truffle aroma, topped with shaved cheese and parsley.

šŸ„ Spring onion. No č”„ę²¹é¤… in Taiwan? This Taiwanese spring onion flavour is sure to bring you through a space travel as if you were having the real thing in Taiwan. However, for those who dislike spring onion, the alliaceous aroma here is unusually strong with the extra spring onion and sour cream. Beware!

šŸ„ Apple Crumble. Felt Christmasy with this twice-baked croissant filled with almond cream, cinnamon apples, cream cheese, finished with crumble. Sweetness level right on point.

šŸ„ 70% dark chocolate. Dark chocolate lovers rejoice! With a dark chocolate coating and dark chocolate cream injected filling, itā€™s nothing less than an indulgence!

šŸ„ Berry cheesecake. Filled with homecooked berries jam and topped with cheesecake cream, I honestly felt like I was really eating a slice of berry cheesecake.

While the boyf felt that the flavours had overshadowed the butteriness of a croissant, all I had to say was just take my calories already! Besides, the petite size was perfect for an afternoon tea. Check out their IG page for order and delivery.

My absolute favourite of all the croissant flavours Sugar Thieves has put out!! This was their Earl Grey Raspberry Croissant that they launched over the National Day Weekend.

The earl grey cream was so flavourful and the raspberry jam was a great touch to cut throught the sweetness!

Verdict: 10/10

Often theĀ best things come in small packages and it was indeed so with @sugarthieves.co Croissant Omakase Bakebox ($38). Meant to be a surprise, each week sees a different assortment of their signature viennoiserie in cute two-bite sizes (that is depending on the size of your mouth).

A mix of sweet and savoury, the flavours in Bakebox 4 were a smashing hit - I might have lucked out as I enjoyed all of them. One out of the two sweet options, the Almond Raspberry was a classic twice-baked almond crusted croissant coupled with lovely raspberry jam. The other was a freshly baked Kopi Gao croissant filled with robust and smooth coffee cream. Great chilled or slightly warmed, it was made for fans of the brew.

The first smell that hits your nose even before opening the box, their Truffle croissant was insanely good in my opinion. Loving the heady aroma, I appreciated the airy texture and that the taste of truffle seemed to have infused beautifully into the buttery pastry. Topped with a blanket of shaved cheese, it added a tinge of saltiness and the earthy truffled mushroom pate sandwiched between was heavenly!

Perhaps paling, by comparison, the Egg Mayo croissant wasnā€™t as intriguing in terms of the flavour profile as the rest; but was nonetheless delicious with the considerable amount of savoury egg mayo stuffed in and sitting on the flaky pastry.

Who cares about onion breath when it comes to their Spring Onion croissant! Transforming the known Taiwanese street snack into wonderful golden baked goodies, Sugar Thievesā€™ fun take on č‘±ę²¹é„¼ was amazing. The savoury bits of fragrantly pungent spring onion and mildly tart sour cream tied harmoniously with the buttery, crispy bread.

Hence, keep a lookout for their upcoming bake box tomorrow! The ordering form opens up at noon every Monday, while stocks last.
