For an authentic PojangMacha (Korean bar), local Koreans hit up Sola Pocha. The bar-style seats set the mood for after-work drinks, whether you're winding down with a colleague or talking shop with a client. If it's serious business, book the inner room (for 10) where privacy is king. Come for soju — the bar makes their own concoctions — and stay for supper. The Yoghurt Soju (RM35) presents soju with a sweet, easy-to-drink yoghurt flavour, but it's just as, if not more potent than its bottled counterparts. Take the Korean route down bar bites for Gopchang Bokum (RM70), stir-fried sausage chitterlings that are nearly impossible to find anywhere else in KL. Crunchy and flavourful, the pork intestine sausages make perfect grease-laden grub with drinks. Otherwise, try the Daktongjip (RM45) that sees chicken gizzards prepared with garlic for aromatic melt-in-your-mouth goodness!

Once visited by Korean star Haha of Running Man fame, Sola-Pocha excels in Korean-style bar grub with drinks (Korean too, of course). Order the Gopchang Bokum or Stir-Fried Chitterlings (RM70), which are sausages made of pork intestines. These have a piquant flavour that's absolutely lovable, and even more when it's had with a bottle of warming Soju (RM25) — just ask any Koreans eating there (there will be many). The bar also doubles as a restaurant so if you're feeling famished, go all out with the BBQ Ribs with Cheese Fondue (RM70 for two pax). The intensely spicy ribs are mellowed by the cheese for a delicious balance. Pro tip: Ask for disposable gloves so the burn doesn't stay on your hands.

The Korean spicy fish roe soup, also known as Altang (RM30) was great for a rainy night to warm our tummies. If you're up for an adventure, but want authenticity, go for it! The roe was fresh and spongy, without any hint of fishiness. We paired it with yogurt soju (RM35), a good combination for those who prefer a more subtle taste of soju.
Hidden gem in Hartamas offering BBQ ribs with cheese fondue. Served with a minimum order of 2 pax (RM35pp), you get 10 spicy ribs and bubbling cheese by the side. If you decide to use your hands, request for disposable gloves as the chilli powder might burn. The spiciness of the rib was well balanced with the sweetness of the cheese. Definitely worth a try!
