Great for dinner with your bestie is this hip restaurant in Jalan Batai. Have a glass of Natural Wine (from RM30 a glass) to pair with the Unagi Cracker (RM24). Look forward to tender pieces of grilled unagi and crunchy granny smith apples sandwiched between dehydrated seaweed β€” interesting and delicious! The community also recommends the Ramen Noodle XO Sauce (RM16) and the Meat Bun (RM21) stuffed with soy-braised lamb.

Drop by this modern Asian restaurant in Plaza Batai for weekday express lunches over mean rice bowls with stellar protein options – from tender beef to torched unagi, seared ginger salmon and more. Dive straight for the Beef With Seaweed Butter (RM27) and look forward to medium-rare slices of quality beef on seaweed butter rice, served with pickles and fresh veggies. Also good is the Japanese Fried Chicken (RM25) – deep-fried karaage in a creamy butter sauce. Ps. All lunch bowls come with a glass of ice tea.

Must-order for the chicken lovers. Super crunchy chicken slicked in a butter sauce with curry leaves, served with the same sides as the beef bowl – jammy egg, pickles, charred kailan, edamame and raw purple cabbage. Very satisfying.

Express lunch bowls are available at this spot on weekdays, and a foodie friend recommended the beef, especially if it’s your first time here. Super savoury and tender slices that pair excellently with the seaweed butter rice (though more butter than seaweed). Goes great with the pickles!

Deep fried housemade bun filled with braised soy lamb, pickles and yoghurt. RM21 per serving.

Crispy dehydrated seaweed sandwich with grilled Unagi, slices of Granny Smith, a hint of ginger. It’s pretty interesting combination. RM24 per serving.
