More Reviews of good food at Seorae Korean Charcoal BBQ (JEM)

We ordered 3 plates of meats and they were all so wonderfully marinated. Full of flavours and sooo tender. The free flow of side dishes makes the experience even better. The kimchi soup was well-received by all of us, though it could be a little hotter when served. Servers were responsive to change the BBQ hotplate after we finished a plate of meat. The BBQ experience was not smoky and we left the place feeling satisfied. It was quiet at 4pm when we reached.
Will be back!

Never heard of Seorae but we were craving some korean meat so we ordered in from them and we were pleasantly surprised by all their dishes. All of them exceeded expectations. Yummmmmm

The meats are good quality, the set worth the money and sides dishes taste good too. Recommended!

So-so and is not cheap. The pork belly is too thick and very hard to bbq.

Liked this a lot previously as it was thick and chewy, but still crispy on the outside. However, it was pretty disappointing this time, as it was pretty floury, and not crisp at all :( The amount of ingredients also seem to have decreased.

Had my first naengmyeon ever at their plaza sing outlet previously, and I still liked it this time! It comes with white vinegar & mustard that you can add by yourself. The noodles are thin and chewy , and I love the broth especially after adding the white vinegar - it is delightfully sour and refreshing. I never thought the words β€œcold” and β€œbroth” would go well together, but this proved me wrong. Found the noodles a little clumpy this time, but would still go for this when I here :)

The execution was ok, w tender pork ribs(4 whole pieces) and soft veggies, but it doesn't taste like a gamjatang at all. It's curry-esque which is really not what I expected. If you ok w that then I think it's decent

The garlic taste isn't v strong actually, despite the amount of garlic attached. It's a very sweet marinate. Otherwise not too noteworthy.

Quite expensive for this quality of meat without eatigo. But 2 meats and 1 soup probably feeds 2 pax nicely (35pp)

Min order of 2 meats to use the charcoal grill. Reasonable but I wasn't expecting it tbh haha

Pork skirt meat. It's quite a lean cut, and come in with the understanding that it's not gonna be super tender. The draw of the meat is the springiness.

Idk if it's just my table but the charcoal wasn't v hot. Couldn't get a good sear, but still ok

Marinade was sweet, but otherwise not too heavy

DO NOT overcook the meat, it turns tough real quick. Aim for medium(cut open the meat to check doneness, make sure don't kiasu cook until well done). I rest my meat after taking it off the grill for awhile, not sure if it's just placebo but can't argue w the end result

Ssamjang, onion sauce, gochujang. The texture for the ssamjang and gochujang were similar to chili sauce, not rlly my thing. The onion sauce was q light and tangy actl (Y)

I love a good seafood tofu stew. The one here was quite spicy, but hearty and chock full of ingredients. With silken tofu, egg, enoki mushroom, zucchini and assorted seafood, this is probably one of the more generous tofu stews in Singapore.

Price: $14.90

Seafood pancake tasted okay, portion not very big enough to feed not more than 2 ppl, seafood just a few pieces. At half price, it was worth it. Without discount, I'd say, "try other dishes".
Dipping sauce was different from other places, it was spicy.

The Galmaegisal meat is painstakingly massaged and marinated for over 3 hours to ensure that the pork is flavourful and tender. Choose from three different marinades – original Korean spice mix, garlic or spicy.

1 big flavourful pot of more salty than spicy arm stew. For all you people out there who like your spicy steamboat experience! At the convenience of a mall, what more can you complain. It was abit chaotic whilst queuing up at dinner time.

πŸ’Έ: $99.60

πŸ’¬: Call me basic but my favourite cut of meat was still the pork belly 😍😍

Very mild flavours across the board, except for the kimchi which was q punchy despite having not much funk. Not impressive on its own, but great to fill a ssam w before u add the meat

Great

Hence i was excited to try this @seoraesg
Upon my first mouthful, i finally understood why koreans always say that a bowl of naengmyeon is perfect for the hot summer. It was seriously so refreshing!πŸ˜‚ Long, thin noodles were served in an icy broth that was slightly sour, which made it really appetising.

However, i foresee that some might not fancy having this for a meal as it was just an endless amount of noodle without any other ingredients such as meat.
