Rong Shu Xia Bak Kut Teh offers Malaysian-style Bak Kut Teh, but the light herbal type not the strong peppery ones which I prefer. However, we were enthralled by their new item, Fried Laksa ($5.90). Using a mix of noodles like Hokkien Mee but in cooked laksa gravy instead. Large deshelled prawns is a bonus too!

Really affordable place to eat. Newly opened at the Tai Thong Crescent. Just a short walk from Potong Pasir Station. .

This jumbo size Claypot only costed $19.90. However, the soup still need some twisting. It was missing the peppery punch which made it addictive to drink. Because the chef hard boiled the ribs and made the meat tough and hard to chew.

Super thick prawn broth. Because of the large amount of pork used, the taste was really intense. For extra kick, you could try it with their xo sauce. The smell from the yellow Mee was a little strong for my liking. Just two mouthful, I sort of put down my chopstick.

My first time eating fried Laksa. This was a like combination of hokkien Mee with laksa broth. Very addictive to eat. Spicy and filled with prawn-y flavor. .

Because of the heavy laksa broth, it made it very difficult to finish one plate alone.

The laksa taste is superbly infused with the noodles, and there are just so many large prawns here. 😍 The noodles were done al dente, with just the perfect amount of moisture for a stir fried dish. Your first mouthful of these laksa noodles is really super shiok. If you are a fan of laksa you must try this ‘dry’ stir-fried incarnation of the dish at @rongshuxiabakkutteh.

We can finally try Malaysian-Style bak kut teh in Singapore! They serve pretty good Chinese restaurant food at super budget prices. Most of their items are priced below $6! 😱 Besides the signature items like Malaysian Bak Kut Teh and Spare Ribs Prawn Noodles, we were pretty impressed by the new menu items like Fried Laksa. 😋👍Do drop by Rong Shu Xia for a taste of the fare. You get nice aircon and pretty amazing prices for the standard of food.
