The bold and prominent aroma from the oolong tea, and the sweetness from the white peach was well balanced. The peach flavours almost reminded us of a nostalgic pink dolphin drink.

Similarly, the floral notes from the chamomile were brought out with a distinct and vibrant blue colour painted by the blue pea flowers! The honey was also not overdone, adding a nice sweetness overall.
We couldnโt resist topping up the set with their signature ๐ก๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐ผ ๐ช๐ฎ๐ณ๐ณ๐น๐ฒ๐ ($๐ฒ.๐ด๐ฌ) ๐งง They were SO generous with the nian gao - almost the entire waffle had nian gao embedded inside. Each bite was one of buttery goodness on the outside and and chewy sweet niangao inside, absolutely perfect when paired with the light fragrance from their tea flavoured ice cream!
These were refreshing drinks to go with our dessert. We really like how they consistently incorporate tea and oriental flavors into their ice cream and would definitely be back for their waffles too.
Having the Better Scoopโs signature specialty waffle a little closer to home, Ri Ri Chaโs Nian Gao Waffle ($6.80 ala carte) was as good as I remembered! I love the balance of chewy and crispy; the kinda airy center is best with the light, crunchy edges. Sticking to their more classic tea-infused scoops, I got the Tie Guan Yin again and tried their Matcha Butterfly Pea Soy for the first time. Surprisingly rich, the dual-coloured ice cream was perfectly smooth and pleasantly bittersweet. The vibrant grassy flavour was also nicely matched by the light milkiness of the soy swirl - a good choice for matcha lovers. ย
Finally checked Ri Ri Cha off my to-try list! We ordered the signature Nian Gao Waffle with 3 scoops of ice cream ($20.30) and I really like the waffle. The waffle is soft and chewy on the inside, and crisp and fragrant on the outside - so good!
The ice cream flavours are pretty interesting too - we chose Strawberry Chia Seeds, Osmanthus Oolong and Chrysanthemum Goji Berries. The flavours are on point and it is quite refreshing to have Chinese tea-infused ice cream apart from the more typical flavours like Earl Grey and Matcha. Glad to try this!
The waffle has a nice crisp exterior with stretchy and chewy Chinese rice cake (ๅนด็ณ) inside. The nian gao was not too sweet with hints of brown sugar. I enjoyed the contrasting texture of the chewy nian gao and crispy waffle. The tie guan yin ice cream was creamy and light in flavour with a very mild taste of tea which I wish the fragrance of tea could be stronger. They do not allow flavour tasting so it's really a hit/miss.
Other flavours available are cookies and cream, sea salt gula melaka, osmanthus oolong, dark chocolate, yuzu shiso, Hoegaarden Rosee beer, chrysanthemum goji berries, matcha butterfly pea soy, roselle smoked plum, pi pa gao mint, white peach oolong, strawberry chia seeds, Jasmine green milk tea and earl grey milk tea.
