an easy go to rice bowl - w fresh seafood (from nagasaki, except salmon from norway) and a mildly sweet tamago that hits the spot! room for improvement for the flavour of the rice (detailed review in previous!) but nonetheless, it’s a decent bowl at a good price!

rly enjoyed having the hefty slices of fresh salmon topped with torched umami-packed mentaiko sauce. the tamago was mildly sweet, & perfectly cut! as a non-fan of anything pea like, the edamame surprised me & had a good bite to it. a pity tho, the rice - an equally important component of the dish wasn’t right. it lacked the distinct fragrance, was a little soft for my liking & i also couldn’t taste the sushi vinegar in the rice (in summary 没有粒粒饭香). a point to note was that the rice was topped with furikake - perhaps to add flavour.

i’d imagine a good don would be where the fish and rice complements each other and would blend together, however i felt like they didn’t blend well here. nonetheless, it’s a decent bowl at a good price with room for improvement!

Quite unexpected to find such a good Chirashi Don bowl in a baking store. The chef told us that the wasabi is freshly grated and it's really spicy the way I like.

The Redman at Star Vista has so many premium food, fresh sashimi platter, fresh oysters, beef and so much more. They also give 10% off for staff working nearby. Now I have more reasons to go Redman even if I don't bake.

They’re generous with their portion. Salmon was definitely fresh together with the roe, it was so good. Rice was soft and fluffy. Will definitely be back.

Extremely fresh sashimi on top of their fluffy vinegar rice and their aburi sauce wasn’t too salty which went really well with their rice. What surprised me was that they provided edamame too hence it balances the whole meal. Will return to try other dishes from their menu.

This was actually put together using premium ingredients from Phoon Huat, which is the place we always go for our baking supplies. They are also purveyors of fine foods, and sell top grade ingredients, making it possible for us to cook and fine dine at home. I'm not talking about just any caviar, oysters, uni, wagyu, and seafood. I'm referring to Beluga and Oscietra caviar, Gillardeau oysters, A4 to A5 Miyazaki, bafun uni, and Carabineros prawns.
