Nestled along Tanjong Pagar Road, Red Holic is a short walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT. Visiting on a Saturday afternoon, the place was not overly crowded but the seats were quickly filled as we ate. The lady (presumably the boss) was really nice, offering chairs to customers for their bags.

We ordered a set of 2 pax tteokbokki, which came with a serving of instant noodles, glass noodles, a hard-boiled egg, 2 deep-fried dumplings, fish cakes, cabbage and rice cakes that came in different forms - long thin strands, thicker but shorter cuts, and some that had mozzarella or sweet potato fillings. While we initially told the lady boss we wanted level 3 spicy level, she was afraid that itā€™d be too spicy for us and suggested that we first opt for level 2. She gave us another serving of chili flakes in a saucer for us to add to the broth if we didnā€™t find level 2 spicy enough. (We didnā€™t use it though hahaha) She also shared that the chili sauce for the broth was imported from Korea and canā€™t be found here.

Having seen reviews online for this place, we were excited to add on the cheese fall (+$8.9), where molten mozzarella cheese was poured over our ingredients. The cheesiness went well with the sweet and spicy flavors of the broth.

While we did enjoy the ingredients, we somehow wish there were more items apart from the carbs. Perhaps it might be a good idea to get the pork cutlet, beef brisket or crispy chicken instead of the plain tteokbokki, but we were also afraid that the serving would be too large for the two of us. We couldnā€™t finish most of the tteokbokki because of how filling these dense rice cakes were. Maybe the portion size would be much better for 3 pax.

Take note that the place doesnā€™t provide complimentary water and mineral water is chargeable.

Delicious and tasted like the ones we had in Korea! The sauce was sweet and spicy, with a hint of aromatic curry. Ddeok was soft and chewy. Especially loved the cheese and sweet potato ddeok. Perfect warm comfort food for a cold and rainy day, Mashiseo!

Best army stew Iā€™ve tried in SG!!! Iā€™ve found myself coming back for their army stews several times and I will continue to recommend all my friends who love authentic Korean cuisine to give this a try :-)

Not sure what sauce constitutes the Rose Army Stew, but it tasted a lot creamier than their original army stew! Almost like carbonara flavour, but pls do take note that they offer Carbonara Army Stew as well.

Ingredients wise, pretty standard Iā€™d say. Maggie, sweet potato noodles, lots of tteokbokki (theyā€™re super generous with it!), a boiled egg, chicken chunks, some mandus, and some cabbage. We also added the cheese fall ($8.90) to go with it as we read good reviews about it. It was.. very cheesy as expected hahahaha itā€™s good and sinful when eaten hot but can be quite gelak towards the end.

Currently they donā€™t take in reservations so please do avoid peak hours when you do a walk-in :-)

$32.80 for the beef was so so worth! Personally preferred this over the chicken and rose sauce as the meat was super tender and flavourful and the noodles soaked up the jjajang sauce much better šŸ˜ Sauce was great too - on a sweet side and isnā€™t too salty - and an option for those who canā€™t take spicy food!

āļø 3.5/5, the beef is the winner here

Great portion of ingredients including fried chicken, different kinds of rice cake, mandu, egg, ramyeon for $31.80 which serves 2-3 pax. Added $8.90 for waterfall cheese which was sooo good (although it isnā€™t very cheap) but definitely worth the try.

Only complaint was that the carbonara seasoning didnā€™t melt quite well in the sauce and chunks of it were tasted, so be sure to mix properly as we have been to excited to eat :ā€)

āļø 3/5, worth a visit if you are a tteokbokki fan!
