I love waffles that are non-fancy. This is simply satisfying after a series of fancy waffles. Simple classic look with semi-crispy waffles. Could be more crispy. Other than that, this is one good waffle ice cream place to check out. $10.70 for waffles and 2 scoops.
Quiet, unassuming cafe with one of the better rainbow cakes around. Hazelnut latte is good too, right temperature, hint of hazelnut that doesn't compromise the coffee. I will be back. 😊
Before ordering from Deliveroo, I tried doing some research on the place via Burpple/Instagram, but vast majority of the photos were all about their rainbow cakes. I was craving for salted egg so of course I decided on their Shrimp with Salted Egg Pasta ($13.90) while my friend ordered the Beef Lasagne ($9.90). And we decided to wash it all down with Thai Milk Tea ($5). The Thai Milk Tea was acceptable, not too sweet though I do wish it was thicker with more of the tea aroma that we've come to love. The consistency of the salted egg sauce was good and went well with the pasta, not too sweet! Opening the container, you can immediately smell the salted egg aroma.!More chili padi would be good to give the pasta an extra kick though, but overall it's pretty decent. Beef lasagne looked quite small at first but it's actually rather filling, they're generous with the gravy and the layers were not too thick. Might try the paddlepop cheesecake next time, it's too gorgeous not to. #burppleroo #deliveroo
Lasagne Beef, $9.90 - soft with sufficient sauce. Earl Grey Lavender Cake, $6.50 - lavender taste is stronger.
Waffle with red velvet ice cream, $7.50- crispy, Ice hazelnut latte and Ice caramel latte, $6.20 each- can request separated sugar syrup and add ownself to adjust the sweetness!
Paddlepop Cheesecake, $7.50- interesting with soft tart base, Ice Thai Milk Tea, $3.50- just nice, Hot Hazelnut Latte, $5.20- not too sweet and not diluted. I will go back again!
this café serves many different kinds of cakes especially the Rainbow Cakes, Paddlepop Rainbow , Oreo Cheesecake and many more. The price is reasonable as well! it's located at 452 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 560452. It's just beside 7-11 and there's a bus stop right in front of the café!
️Second time here at @Rainbow.Cottage and the paddlepop cheesecake is still so pretty and yummy!😍 They also have a special Xmas paddlepop cheesecake, wanted to try but sold out.🙁😩 .
#onthetable bestseller Earl Grey Lavender Cake and another Xmas special - red velvet waffles with orh nee and hazelnut ice creams. So yummy! 👍🏻😋 Glad mummy and sis-in-law enjoyed the sweet treats.☺️
The best cafe I've ever visited in Ang Mo Kio, highly recommended for people who like to visit a warm and vintage style cafe. I've tried English tea, it was so fine and taste of spongy rainbow cake is unforgettable!
Cake was decent but not exceptional. Who can resist this for a picture perfect shot?
Thai ice tea and tiramisu ice cream w waffles. the waffles were crispy but a tad too salt-ish.
fees like a family run business. customers with kids keep streaming in during the weekends.
I am going on an eating spree for my Snapchat today 👻 DanielFoodDiary
The wait was rather long, no complaints though as it was a good quiet place to chill. In the meantime, a weird plastic smell was permeating the cafe, most certainly from the waffle maker as we were the only customers there. Waffle was well made, crisp outside. Wasn't impressed with the taste. Probably yeast raised batter, quite like Shrove Tuesday's but definitely not as professional. Some parts of the waffle had a weird bitter aftertaste. Overall, it had a stale gardenia bread taste and I did not enjoy it as a whole. Gelato were mostly misses, some flavour I tried had an icy texture. Flavour wise seems diluted with an over abundance of sugar to make up. Do make sure to try before buying.
Cake was cheesy while I didn't really liked the crust with a weird taste to it.
The taste of childhood! It wasn't overly sweet and it has a tad of marshmallow flavour and of cos the taste of cotton candy! And the colour is soo cute u just gotta have it (:
During my last visit, they oversold their rainbow cakes and had to refund me my money. This time I learnt my lesson, before I grabbed a table, I ordered the cake first! The layers of the rainbow cake are alot thinner than other cafes and they are very vibrantly coloured. It is very pretty and photogenic. However, I felt that the cake was abit dry, and wasn't as nice as their rainbow paddlepop cheesecake which is what brought me back here. I had better hopes.
I love their little forks, with a plastic "gem". Nonetheless, for the AMK region, whereby cafes are still popping up every month, Rainbow cottage cafe doesn't have that much competition for rainbow cakes. So if you're craving for a rainbow cake and you live in the AMK region, do give it a try. :)
3 scoops of gelato and 1 topping $14.40
(Hazelnut rocher, mocha biscotti, strawberry cheesecake)
For the 3 of us greedy pigs, we decided to get 3 scoops. Having tried their hazelnut rocher the last time I visited, I decided to get the same flavour again. It was deliciously thick and creamy. Every mouthful tells your brain that you are eating pure ferrero rochers in an ice cream texture!
The mocha biscotti tasted strongly of coffee, more so than chocolate. It had a slight bitter after-taste but it is a good compliment for the other ice cream flavours, as the other two were very sweet.
The strawberry cheesecake tasted like a strawberry ice cream that wasn't sweet. There was a couple of "cheesecake" cubes embedded in the ice cream. Other than that, it resembled a typical strawberry ice cream. As one of their signature ice creams, I feel that they can do better.
Amongst the 2 new flavours I have tried. I still prefer their chendol and hazelnut rocher. Even their bubblegum flavour was unique and memorable.
Their waffles are of the crispy exterior kind. It stays crispy for quite a long while despite a melting gelato perched on top of it. The fruity pebbles added a nice crunch for each scoop of gelato, a worth 50 cent topping!
Pardon the bad lighting but it really tastes good. Uncle said it was the first day he put it up for sale. Hope he will keep making this 😄
Prolly one of my most favorite lasagne! It took a while for the the food to come but it was worth it! the amount of cheese was just right and it was all melted to perfection! Highly recommended! And priced at a reasonable $9 :) a hidden gem in AMK!
