Another under the radar stall in town. Managed by an elderly couple. Old uncle does the chopping and aunty takes the orders. Light and fluffy rice with a soft hint of chickadee fragrance. Tender chicken with a fall off the bone texture. Splashed with savory light soya sauce. Skin with a gentle glisten, not very oily. It was smooth, soft, melty and gelatonous. Collagen screaming loudly.." eat me eat me and your skin will go boink boink." Chilli sauce is not very spicy but it had a nice tangy finish.

This stall is tucked in an inconspicuous corner of the kopitiam... literally. One wont notice it is there unless there is a queue because the stall is quite small. A very very decent plate of hainanese chicken rice. Michelin stars and bib gourmand aside, I am all for supporting the ordinary stalls run by our pioneers.

Crispy chicken , so tender and juicy, fried noodles and egg.
Curiosity got the better of me. One never know till you try.

Absolutely orlulu (blackened). Charsiew charred at the sides. Sweet, sticky and chewy. Roast duck with abit of a melty crisp skin. The sauce was jet black, thick and gooey, flooded my pristine white rice, uplifted every single grain to a tantalising mushyness. See the black dollop on the right? That is the chilli sauce!! Semi starchy, sweet and just atad spicy. My whole plate was just a mini mountain of "the new black". And how I loved that little splash of sauce on the plate. Abit of a rustic accidental decor.

Not in picture, I also ordered a bowl of watercress soup. An antioxidant to wash away "the new black". Simple and satisfying and only $4.
