The broth. The tender beef slices. The kiamchye. The chilli. I will miss you
Foodie trackback today before it closes. We start with the ever so delicious and always well fried carrot cake. Nothing beats this. Honest. You have 6days more before they move to Balestier
I suddenly recall all the food centres which I grew up with... Margaret Drive, Hillstreet, Long House, and now this. All gone. Been eating Kok Kee since sec school. Will miss my fav supper place.
[Venue is closed] On the table - Ah Long ham & cheese pancake, Rojak and Eminent frog leg porridge.
The wanton mee had an old school taste to it, which is kind of comforting. That said, I still think it's overrated and I don't understand why there is a never-ending queue~~ And oh, that plate of fried wantons gotta be the most expensive wantons I ever had. I was shocked when the person told me "小姐, 十塊半"("Miss, $10.50"). I actually paid $6.50 for a plate of fried wantons. 😳 My bad cos I didn't ask the price when I ordered (I assumed it's $2-$3 at max). Moral of the story? Never ASSUME. hahaha. 😅
I will miss here as this was one of my supper places while growing up.
