Spent yesterday afternoon studying and decided to reward ourselves with some fresh churros and a piece of Japanese chocolate mochi [not pictured here]. Crisp, crunchy and chewy – if only it came with chocolate!
It's the first day of the Lunar New Year – better known as 'Seollal' in Seoul, and the streets are deserted. Thankfully, Lotteworld Mall is open and we managed to get a decent lunch of traditional gomtang [broth made by boiling Korean beef with rice]. It may be considered bland for those with a stronger taste palate – you may choose to add salt and pepper to taste, but we enjoyed the richness and simplicity of the rice broth as it is.
Happy Seollal from Seoul! #GourmetAdventuresInSeoul
