Being situated in an old neighbourhood, LJJ Cafe is constructed to recreate that old-school vibes that coffeeshops used to have, though albeit in a hipster fashion. The menu pays tribute to the past as well, selling Toasts, Noodle Soup, Mee Siam and even Ice-Cream in bread (heard there's an Atap Chee flavour around). The food is not particularly impressive, but it's the environment that would probably catch you as you people watch, with a cup of Kopi on the table.
Kopi and Kopi O is being pulled by an old uncle here; pretty thick and sweet enough.
Cream Cake Set comes with coffee and any two cream cakes. Cakes are terribly tiny, and while they looked quite nostalgic, the cream they used were fresh cream instead of buttercream. It doesn't make up for it that the cakes were somewhat dry especially in the edges, feeling rather aired out for too long. Tasted a tad artificial as well.
One of the more "modern" dishes available in this nostalgic-themed cafe. Scrambled egg were runny though lacked seasoning, while the chicken franks were a bit too salty. Appreciated that they used pillowy soft bread for their toast, which is toasted to crisp on the exterior though only comes with butter inside.
