Recently, I was craving for some herbal soups and I must say, it was a thoroughly satisfying experience after trying out Tan Ser Seng herbal soup. Here's my take on the dishes I ordered:
Drinks:
I started with the Ginseng Chrysanthemum Tea, and surprisingly the tea was not diluted, which is often a common issue elsewhere. You can clearly taste the ginseng's earthy tones and the chrysanthemum's floral fragrance. It felt fresh and authentic definitely worth ordering and highly recommended.
Sides:
The Prawn Roll stood out for its size and quality. It was generously portioned, lacked any oily smell, and the ingredients inside tasted fresh. In my opinion, it was better than most zhi char stalls in Singapore. A great choice if you're looking for something savory and not overly greasy.
Soups:
I tried three different soups: the Cordyceps Chicken, the Ginseng Black Chicken , and the Fish Maw Soup. All of them exceeded expectations.
- The Fish Maw Soup was clean-tasting, with no fishy or oily smell from the fish maw, which is often a concern for this dish.
- Both the Cordyceps Chicken and the Ginseng Black Chicken Soup had rich, deep herbal flavors that showcased the quality of the ingredients used. They were hearty and comforting, perfect for a rainy day.
I paired the soups with Yam Rice, which was fragrant, filled with yam and mushroom bits, and surprisingly not oily. The flavor of the rice complemented the soups perfectly, and it was far better than what I’ve experienced at other soup stalls, where the rice is often bland or overly greasy.
The meal was not just delicious but also comforting and nourishing. It’s the kind of food that warms you up, both physically and emotionally—especially on a rainy day. I would definitely return for more, particularly for the herbal soups and that amazing yam rice. Highly recommended!

The lunch experience here was a delightful mix of flavors and textures, showcasing a thoughtful approach to classic favorites with a twist. Starting with the Crab Croquettes, these golden bites were perfectly crisp on the outside with a rich, tender crab filling, complemented by a subtly sweet mayo that lifted the flavor profile without overpowering it. The Prawn Toast was equally impressive, balancing a satisfying crunch with the creamy, umami-rich aioli that lingered just enough to keep each bite interesting.

The highlight, however, was the Jumbo Tiger Prawn Ramen. The broth was beautifully crafted, with a depth and savoriness that enveloped the senses. The prawns were plump and succulent, adding a fresh brininess that paired well with the rich broth. It’s a dish that speaks of both comfort and sophistication.

The restaurant’s ambience adds to the experience, with a spacious layout that allows for a relaxed meal. The option of outdoor seating is a nice touch, providing a breezy, casual vibe perfect for daytime dining. Convenient parking access is the cherry on top, making this spot both a culinary and logistical gem for a leisurely lunch.

I had the pleasure of dining at The Ingleside Experience, and I must say, the service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, and each dish was presented with care and detailed explanations that enhanced the dining experience.

I began with the Cured Mackerel, which was beautifully charred with a perfect balance of heat from the red hot coals and a subtle yet flavorful jalapeño dressing. The accompanying crustacean oil added a rich, briny depth that elevated the dish.

The Maitake & Pork was another highlight, with the split pea miso glaze and crispy kale providing both texture and umami. The pork cheek was tender, and the shiokoji sauce tied everything together with a savory finish.

For my main course, I had the Atlantic Octopus, which was tender and smoky, complemented by a flavorful black garlic aioli and herb aioli. The fennel added a nice charred touch that brought a delightful contrast of textures.

The Hungarian Duck Breast was perhaps the star of the night. As I chewed, the flavors developed beautifully, becoming more pronounced with each bite. There was no gaminess at all, and the pickled gooseberry provided a bright, tart counterpoint to the richness of the meat. The parsnip purée was velvety and herb salad added freshness that rounded out the dish.

For dessert, I had both the Smoked Chocolate Brownie and the Deconstructed Lemon Meringue Tart. The brownie was a wonderful combination of deep chocolate flavor paired with the light, airy coconut foam, which added an unexpected tropical note. The tart, on the other hand, was refreshing, with the yuzu granita and lavender lemon curd adding complexity without being overwhelming.

The ambiance of the restaurant is perfect for special occasions, whether it’s a date night, an anniversary, or a birthday celebration. The setting is intimate yet elegant, creating an atmosphere that makes any evening feel like a special event.

Overall, every dish was well-executed, and the experience was memorable. I would highly recommend The Ingleside Experience for anyone looking for an elevated dining experience.

I ordered their signature pork ribs and it was way beyond my expectations. The meat was so tender and it falls off the bone so easily. The sauce on the meat gives the meat extra flavour and you can taste a burst of umami when you have your first bite. Would definitely reccomend to my friends and family as they have a nice cosy in door seatings that is air conditioned and if you like you can opt for the out door seating as well.

Definitely one of the better pork ribs I've had in Singapore!

I ordered the braised pork ribs and big prawns and tobiko prawn ball and big prawns, for the noodles o ordered yellow noodles and thick beehoon both choosing the spicy options. Personally I feel that the braised pork broth it’s more tastier and have depth of flavor, while the tobiko is also quite fresh and feels like restaurant quality. As for the side dishes we ordered cheese otah, fish cakes and Ngoh Hiang I felt that only ngoh hiang taste the best. Overall I would order the braised pork again as the serving is more than enough for one person.

Had a awesome dining experience at fu lin especially with the live music and its definitely a great place to chill and catch up with friends over yummy food like this crab fried rice and there are many drinks options at fu lin too.

The location is very convienent and easy to find as it's located just infront of the central fountain.

The food are priced reasonably and the crabmeat & prawn fried rice I ordered was only $28 and the portion was not too small and great for sharing. Will definitely bring my friends here in the future.

I like that the location is very accessible as its located right in town. I ordered the baby pork ribs and the meat was very tender it falls off the bone easily and the sauce paired nicely with the meat too!

The thick cut fries was great too not overly salty and was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The salad at the side was nice too.

I also got the cranberry juice it was a nice and refreshing drink to freshen you up.
