Hawker Eats × Soup 汤 🥣
Pig organ soup with good servings of ingredients such as meatballs, tofu, lean meat, pork belly, pig stomach, liver and salted vegetables while the special order has additional small intestine & kidney. The soup is flavourful and peppery with a tinge of salty and sourness from the salted vegetables. Not forgetting their awesome and well-balanced chilli with hints of sourness yet not overly spicy to go along with the ingredients. Very satisfying to have these on a cool evening or rainy day.
The steamed minced meat with chestnut and salted fish is a must-order. The meat was soft and tender with the saltiness from salted fish and crunchy bits of water chestnut. It is packed with flavours and textures that go very well with rice.

This claypot seafood soup comes with fish slices, prawns, scallops, squid and meatballs by default with an option to add on fish maw. The broth is creamy with natural sweetness from the use of fresh seafood. It goes well with a bowl of rice and excellent choice on a rainy day 》$8.90 + Fish Maw
Every bowl is prepared to order with fish, handmade meatball, fish maw and prawns cooked perfectly in a comforting broth that’s chock full of umami flavour. The fish and meat were tender, prawns were fresh in rich and heavy broth with sweetness from seafood 》$8
Unlike the spinach soup with century and salted egg, the one with YTF is much lighter. The broth is mild and clear with natural sweetness in there. Somehow the taste of YTF overwhelmed the natural taste of the soup and I preferred the former instead. Add $0.50 for rice or noodles if you need some carbs to fill your belly but I feel that the portion is huge and good enough to go light on carbs 》$4
📍 老味道苋菜汤 Spinach Soup | #01-53
The spinach soup with century and salted egg comes with minced meat, mushroom, wolfberries and a huge amount of spinach. The soup is light and savoury while the century and salted eggs added a touch of richness and saltiness to the soup. The eggs did help to thicken and intensify the soup, giving it a more satisfying fuller-bodied consistency - lots of umami flavours in there. Add $0.50 for rice or noodles if you need some carbs to fill your belly 》$4
📍 老味道苋菜汤 Spinach Soup | #01-53
Comes with fish slices, chunks of handmade meatballs and prawns in fragrant and flavourful seafood soup packed with umami.
They serve three different types of fish (dory, batang, red grouper) where I chose to go with batang that was fresh and firm. The prawns were big and plump while their handmade meatball was flavourful with bits and pieces of mushroom 》$8/big
**They were previously known as Sin Kee seafood soup back when they were in Marsiling and have since rebranded to Jia Li seafood soup in Aljunied.
A robust and nourishing bowl of ginseng black chicken soup packed with herbal flavours and tender black chicken. The use of Chinese wolfberries also add some sweetness to the bowl of herbal soup 》$15
The dumplings were soft and firm in texture but the soup was too lightly seasoned/bland that I feel it could have been better 》$4
The red grouper seafood soup comes with ingredients such as slices of red grouper, 3pcs of tiger prawns, handmade minced pork balls, chunks of tomatoes and fish maw. The unami seafood soup is savoury and naturally sweet from the seafood. The red grouper was fresh and succulent while the prawns came with a nice crunch with sweetness. This is a perfect hot bowl of unami seafood soup with rich flavours to counter the cold evening weather 》$12 + $1 Fish Maw
The soup of the day on our visit was pork ribs with lotus root. It was something light, sweet and flavourful to start off our meal while waiting for the claypot rice to arrive 》$9.80

It came with a drumstick and goji berries. The soup was light and the taste of herbs was not too strong. I ordered this as an add-on to our meal. Alternatively, you can order a bowl of rice to pair it with their soup and complete your meal 》$6
It's made all-in-one pot with a chicken leg, fish maw, mushroom, sea coconut, red dates, and wolfberries. The soup was rich and slightly thickened with a distinct taste of Chinese herbs. The soup is also refillable so fret not and just indulge in it. We ordered this together with their pumpkin rice to go along with other dishes 》$29.80

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
