SG Nasi Lemak Trail…
Finally checked this nasi lemak joint off my to try list! When we reached here, there was only the Ayam Berempah Leg option left so that’s what we got! The fried chicken leg was the star of the show - it was nicely marinated with a fragrant flavour and was pretty juicy too! Also, I love the sambal chilli, so savoury with some spice! I just wished the rice could have been slightly more ‘lemak’ but I guess it’s to balance out all the richness already on the plate. Will definitely be back!
Finally visited this nasi lemak stall OG Lemak that has been trending on social media recently, and yeah, I was pretty impressed with what I had! I ordered the Beef Rendang set, and it was really good! The beef rendang was fork-tender and flavourful, while the ‘twice-steamed’ rice was fluffy and really aromatic! Special shout-out to the sambal chilli too - there’s actually 2 types of chilli paste served on my plate, sambal belacan & sambal tumis, a shiok and spicy combination!
When you’re talking about chinese nasi lemak in Singapore, there are not many places that do it better than @ponggolnasilemak.
Yes, the pricing for their food items is certainly on the higher side, but so is the quality compared to other places (the long snaking queues are a testament to that).
The base of the dish is of course the fragrant rice ($1), and the items i usually go for are as pictured; fried chicken wings ($1.70), otah ($1.50) & long beans ($1). The fried chicken wings in particular are really good; so crispy and juicy.
Cheap & good nasi lemak found here at Whampoa Food Centre! This stall always has a queue, and i can see why.
The rice & sambal chilli (2 components which makes or breaks a nasi lemak for me) were both excellent, and there were a variety of ingredients to choose from too! I would recommend getting the chicken wings as they were very crispy & nice.
Remember when Jia Xiang Nasi Lemak were making waves on social media for their blue pea rice nasi lemak? They have since rebranded and they are now known as Simple.简.
We tried their rendang chicken set ($6.50), and we loved it. The chicken meat was tender and the rendang gravy was shiok.
Overall, this is a dish that taste as good as it looks.
Changi village is famous for nasi lemak and this is my fav stall. The basmati rice is so fragrant and the sambal chili is so sedap. We ordered Set A (chicken wings) & Set F (Sotong).
Very good nasi lemak found here. The rice is fragrant & the chicken wings very crispy, love the otah too!
Very good nasi lemak here. The rice is very fragrant, and goes well with the chili. I went for set E, which includes chicken wing, otah, Ilan bilis & eggs.
One of the best nasi lemak i had in Singapore so far, certainly lived up to its reputation!
