health is wealth

don’t even bother with this place... the portions are staggeringly small and there are barely any seats ever. if you have a group of 3 it’s pretty much impossible to dine at this outlet. the food was below average and sloppy. there goes nine bucks...

battling a long queue during peak hours, we were pretty excited when we first saw the highly-raved 𝙈𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙠𝙤 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙤𝙣 [$10] bowl!
what really impressed me was the thickness of the salmon fillet, and just how juicy it was! i'm not the biggest fan of cooked salmon (i prefer mine raw) but this one hit different 😩 it was lightly-cooked, such that it was slightly pink on the inside and really tender 😍 AND THE MENTAIKO MAYO WAS SO CREAMY I LUV
of course, the most unique feature of the bowl was definitely the butterfly pea-cooked rice (it's not every day i get to eat blue rice), which supposedly has multiple health benefits. it boasts a vivid blue color, but doesn't taste thaaaat different from regular rice if you're wondering. it was okay, although it fell a little on the mushy side.
🍙 overall: would i get it again? maybe, but probably just for the salmon! but i would say it was a pretty interesting experience heh. in the middle of amoy food street where it's nestled among many other food stalls, it's easy to miss it, but i think it's worth one try

trying to snag a healthy lunch in between work hours? try shake farm! the atmosphere at shake farm is fun, vibrant and refreshing, perfect for a lunch break during a stressful weekday☀️ (ps they’re on burpple too!)
i love shake farm because it offers SOOO many different types of bowls you can get (and they include calorie counts too if you're trying to keep track of that)! i usually prefer having the freedom to customise my own bowl so i went for their build-your-own-bowl option and got the 🥗 𝙁𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣' 𝙋𝙚𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙎𝙚𝙩 [$16.4 for my selection of ingredients].
i added tri-colour quinoa, tuna mix, sous-vide egg, carrots and squash, beetroot hummus, nut culture cashew cheese and tahini sesame dressing. some comments:
🍠 the beetroot hummus was really smooth and had an earthy flavour — really really enjoyed this (bonus points for the vibrancy it added to the dish heh)
🧀 i couldn't resist trying the nut culture cashew cheese (vegan)! it tasted super zesty and mildly sweet... interesting... but i probably wouldn't pay $2.5 again for it 🤭
🐟 the tuna mix was pretty good! i don't usually eat tuna that isn't raw but these two scoops of tuna contained chopped onions which gave it such a nice flavourful crunch!
🥕 the squash and carrots were quite sweet—i liked it!
👍🏻 perhaps my favourite part of this bowl was the tahini sesame dressing!! it was surprisingly nutty, kind of like peanut butter, which took me by surprise in a good way
