Grilled chicken was big and thick as always, juicy and tender with a nice char, not too greasy and pleasantly chewy upon bite. No mushroom gravy was drizzled compared to the aglio olio style. Perhaps they wanted us to dip it in the cream sauce from the carbonara since it was given in generous amount.
Carbonara is the usual kopitiam version with lots of cream, and this one was extremely creamy. Would probably be better to call it cream pasta. Noodles were slightly soft and slurpy, with each strand coated well in the cream sauce. The cream was not heavy, quite moderate, not one to make you feel jelak, though it did make the lips creamy too. Haha. Probably would taste even better if bacon was added, but they did not have bacon that day. Bacon adds umami taste. Mushrooms would also help to make it less plain and add some earthy bites. Still a delicious and filling plate of noodles.
Went back to eat again and realised there is an increase in pricing of 30 cents for all their mains. This item is not written in the menu, you need to request it. You will only see Aglio Olio with Grilled Chicken Chop ($7.80) on the menu. Top up $1 to change from aglio olio to carbonara style.

A refreshing sweet drink topped with lychees. Thirst‑quenching and pleasant.
They advertised Classic French Onion Soup topped with bread and mozzarella cheese, but in reality they didn’t have it and asked me to choose either Chicken Chowder or Mushroom Soup. I chose Chicken Chowder, which came in a small soup pot served with aromatic crispy garlic bread. The soup had shredded tender chicken, sweet corn and herbs. It wasn’t the rich, thick and creamy kind I expected, but rather watery and seemed diluted, almost like instant soup mix from a can. Although fluid, the taste was savoury and reminded me of Campbell’s Cream of Chicken. Hopefully it was made from scratch, but nonetheless it was still heartwarming.
Treated myself to a 3‑Course Christmas Set Meal ($35.80). Portions were generous, taste was pretty mid but still tasty, and the cost felt slightly on the pricey side.
The set meal consists of a soup, a main and a drink.
Main
I went with Grilled Chicken Chop served with Carbonara Pasta topped with Turkey Bacon. Generous portion — the chicken chop was huge. The meat had mild tenderness but leaned toward the dry side with little moisture retained, though the greasy crisp skin was yummy. Carbonara was also a large portion. Noodles were softer than al dente, lightly cheesy and quite creamy. Portion size was fitting, because any more would be jelak as the cream was heavy. Overall, a pretty standard cream pasta taste.

That being said, the chicken chop, although a big portion with tender texture, tasted dry and flat.
Luncheon meat with mozzarella cheese melts was one tastisfying combo, and the effort to make it is appreciated. Just look at that stretchy cheese pull, enough to make you excited.
I liked their butter rice, which was fragrant, tasty and full of buttery and herby flavour. The rice grains were fluffy and not greasy at all.
Spotted a rather new western stall in a coffeeshop at Khatib area that accepts CDC vouchers for payment. So yeah, here’s me making full use of the remaining before they expire. Saw something interesting from them, so this is what I ordered.
Chicken Chop with Luncheon Meat & Cheese ($8.50) add Butter Rice ($1.50)
The premium mains are served with either cheese fries or butter rice, salad and hearty baked beans. Since I wanted to try all, I chose cheese fries and added butter rice to the set. Probably the only one who melts mozzarella cheese onto luncheon meat and stacks it on top of chicken chop — a creative way to add savouriness.
Presentation was on point and looked mouth‑watering, but I’m disappointed to say it tasted subpar. Is it that bad? Not really. That being said, the chicken chop, although a big portion with tender texture, tasted dry and flat. Salad was shredded cabbage with sesame sauce. Fries were thin‑cut and lightly salted. Baked beans were warm.
I think they could improve on certain points like:
- Chicken chop needs better moisture retention, or avoid overcooking. A saucer of mushroom or black pepper sauce would help.
- Spam more sesame sauce for the shredded cabbage salad.
- Spam more nacho cheese sauce for the fries, or add mayonnaise for extra creaminess.

Succulent ribeye steak cooked till medium well. Clean beefy taste, tender with a firm bite, juicy but dried at some parts. Luckily the black pepper sauce helped to moisten and give flavour. For local coffeeshop standard, pretty good, though I preferred medium rare. If got some salt and pepper on the side, even better.
Set comes with 2 choices, so I picked Mashed Potato and Coleslaw out of their nine options. Still impressed by their sides portion, very generous. Mashed potato was a freaking huge scoop and tasted like instant powder mix but okay lah, still creamy and smooth, and the mushroom sauce gave flavour.
