December special with the tea-rubbed turkey, roots hash puppies and plum aioli with greens situation. Honestly, isn't the best bagel. The hash puppies were soggy and oozing out of the bagel. Hmm.
Peppery and has a little kick to it. Would prefer if the chicken was more spread out instead of concentrated in the middle.
After toasting it, you'll get the slightly charred garlic bits on the top, butterly crisp garlic bread and the sweetness from the cream cheese. I'm not hating it because of the sweetness, but imagine a version with gooey melted white cheese...
I liked that it had whole red beans and sweet potato chunks with walnuts. But the fillings to bread ratio is 1:3 with half of the bread not filled...
Delicious toasts but Fun-Guy got soggy fast. Well thought out dishes in terms of pairing of ingredients and aesthetics, however I doubt I'll purchase in full price. The cafe is lovely and so are the staff!
Both were perfect breakfast sandwiches for us. Hero was generously stuffed and I appreciated the apple slices. Truffle mushroom was fragrant and had the right amount of cheese for me. Toasties did not get soggy easily which was a plus point.
Used Burpple Beyond for the Avocado Toast ($9.50) and the Nutella & Banana Toast ($8). The sourdough was great. Personally prefer the savoury AvoToast with Feta cheese and spices relative to the sweeter option.
There are not many options for me at PBD so I went for the mushroom melts ($16+). Mushroom trio (shimeji, portabello, white button), mozzarella, balsamic glaze, caramelized onions, arugula, garlic aioli and rye bread.
Love the bread though it got soggy fast. Yes to the cheese and caramelized onions in neutralising the bitterness of arugula. Wasn't the biggest fan of the sauces as it came across a tad too sweet for a savoury sandwich. Pricey but is more value for money with Burpple Beyond.
Light and fluffy, the broiche doesn't get soggy from the generous amount of ricotta. The thinly sliced mushrooms and pomegranate bits gave a nice mouth feel. Only wished that there was a better ratio of toppings to ricotta.
One of the sweeter yam filling. Not hating it though!
Another of my go-to flavour! Extremely fluffy and had a nice natural sweetness.
I just love their mantous and baos. And this yam version did not disappoint! The filling isn't too sweet and the bun is just. so. FLUFFY!
