Yumz In My Tumz
Finally visited Zhup Zhup Prawn Mee after hearing so many good reviews about this place. I had the dry prawn mee which was really delicious, with the chilli packing a serious punch. The broth, served in a traditional claypot, is incredibly rich and flavourful, perfectly balancing the sweetness of the prawns with a deep, savoury taste. Overall, it was a really satisfying and hearty meal.
Loving the aesthetic and the nostalgic elements of this restaurantās decor. The food served here are your local favourite zichar food taken to culinary extremes. The Chef Joelās BBQ Pork cheek was really juicy and goes really well with the Isaan-inspired sauce, one of my favourite dishes there. The Supreme Seafood Fried Rice is also highly recommended! Simple, yet delicious. Would definitely come back here again to try out the other dishes.
Tachinomiya is a cosy neighbourhood izakaya place with good selection of food and drinks. The place is a little small so Iād recommend that you make a reservation before going down to avoid the long queue.
The food here was really delicious, Iād highly recommend getting the mentai salmon and tiger prawn kushiyaki, and also the grilled cheese mentaiko scallop. They are quite generous with the amount of mentaiko so itās really quite satisfying for mentaiko lovers. Their ei hire was also very well cooked, with every piece being really crunchy and crisps. One of the best Iāve tasted.
Will definitely be back to try out their other dishes.
My first time visiting PIPES - overall really enjoyed myself there. I had the salt baked octopus, asari clams with sake broth, sashimi and ehire, and none of the dishes disappoint. I was really pleased with the quality of the sashimi as they were extremely fresh and it came in such a huge portion. The asari clams are not only delicious but they pair wonderfully with all the dishes on the table. And finally, you have to get the Hattendo cream buns to finish the meal with.
My first time trying Russian cuisine and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Iād recommend the herring salad as a starter as the sweet and saltiness of the dish helps to open up your appetite. I also had the dumplings combo platter which allows you to taste all 12 different flavours as well as the cherbureki which was my favourite. Itās a crispy puff pastry with really juicy minced pork in it.
Overall, I had an amazing time here and would definitely be back to try out the other dishes they have.
Nice place for a casual dinner with great selection of Italian dishes. Really enjoyed the bruschetta salmone starter and the vongole tagliatelle pasta. Would definitely come back to try other dishes! š
Shukuu is indeed a hidden gem, located along Stanley street. I have been there a number of times, and Iām always impressed with the standard of the food here. The food here is really really amazing and the price is reasonable as well. If youāre a fan of izakaya, Iād recommend you to come after by work to have dinner and chill with your friends.
Finally got to try Yomieās yogurt drink after hearing so many good reviews about how delicious and nutritious their drink was. I ordered the Passionate from Miles Away, which was passionfruit mixed with the yogurt smoothie! It was really refreshing, and the passionfruit was a really good combination with the yogurt! I highly recommend it!
Cou Cou is a hidden treasure, tucked away at the vibrant Craig Road that offers amazing Swiss cuisine. The place is really chill and intimate, great for romantic date nights or celebration with friends.
The starters here are definitely not to be missed. I had the malakoff, which is a ball of fried GruyĆØre cheese. When you bite into the crispy surface of the fried ball, the cheese inside will just melt into your mouth. It comes with a curly salad, served with homemade Grand PĆØre dressing which was really tasty and goes really well with the malakoff.
For mains, I had the Pork Tenderloin with Morels Mushroom Sauce while my friend had the Zurich-style Chicken Ragout with Rƶsti. The rƶsti was fried to perfection while the chicken was really tender and soft. It was served with a thick and creamy mushroom gravy that was really delicious. The Pork Tenderloin, paired with the morels mushroom sauce was really juicy and delectable.
I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again to try the other dishes.
PS: the service was impeccable!
Finally got to try Ramen Nagi at the Ion outlet, and Iām pretty sure Iāll be back again for more.
At Ramen Nagi, you get to choose from 4 different flavours of broth and then customise your own bowl of ramen. I had the original butao king while my friend had the red king which is a spicier version. Both soup broth are really rich and flavourful - almost as if they were sauces for your noodles. The sliced chashu meat was really soft and tender while the pork belly came in a big chunk that was really juicy.
Overall, I feel the flavour profiles were really well balanced and it left me wanting for more. Canāt wait to be back again to try their other ramens.
The Wine & Gourmet Friends is a little restaurant around Bukit Pasoh that is quite cozy and intimate. Itās a great place to have private conversations while dining.
I had the Kurobuta Pork Chop while my friend had the Roast Pork Belly. The Kurobuta Pork Chop was really tender and soft and it was served with the most amazing truffle mash Iāve ever tasted. The Roast Pork Belly skin is so crispy you can hearing the crackling sound as you chew on it. The meat is really tender and the fats just melt in your mouth. Iād highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again to try the other dishes.
