Ah, finally wanton mee that is quite (but not quite there still) close to M’sian wanton mee, with its signature dark soya sauce colour and good wanton. Getting the regular sized one will also include fried wanton and sliced pork chop which were delicious and well worth the upgrade.
Came here at 11.30am, and there was already a queue of 8 people in front of me. Not surprising, as this one got a Michelin bib gourmand. The queue moved fairly quick though. Try to avoid the lunch crowd, the queue is crazy long and you’d probably have to queue for 45 minutes to get a bowl.
I got the one with mixed ingredients, which contained beef balls, tripe and ribs. I liked how fresh the ingredients were and the ribs were fall off the bone tender! My only gripe is that the soup just wasn’t my cup of tea. It was way too herbal to the point it became a bit bitter.
Cheng Tng (front) and soursop jelly (back) dessert. Asked for less sweet for the Cheng Tng but when I drank it there was straight up 0 sugar so it basically tasted like ice water, so I wouldn’t recommend asking them to lower the sugar level next time. Soursop jelly was a bit too sweet for my liking but it was not bad at all!
Not the best fried carrot cake I’ve had, but not bad. $4 gives you quite a big portion! As a big eater, this really satisfied me. It was also on the sweeter side, and had literally nothing else except carrot cake, eggs and a bit of those sweet pickled vegetable fried together. Would be better if there were other dishes to complement it too.
Not bad, but also nothing to shout about. They’re not very generous with the fish meat.
Kinda disappointing, the queue was so long but I found it quite mediocre.
Only $3 for this! Portion is small, but for the price I’m not complaining. They even give salted vegetable on the side to complement the otherwise slightly bland chicken. Tastes better than some chicken rice stalls out there that are more expensive and overrated.
