The star of the evening was served personally by the chef himself. It was a smoky sizzling show to watch as he explained to us the components of the dish while mixing everything together and topping it with uni and ikura. A modern twist to the traditional claypot rice, it was an explosion of flavours. The rice itself had a smokey and fragrant chao tar taste to it with a good amount of sauce coating, making each mouthful to be savoury, sweet and crunchy from the rice crispy puffs. The crab, aged fish and ikura gave the dish a natural saltiness while the uni bought an element of creaminess. Absolutely incredibly tasty and undoubtedly a must-have here!
A highly recommended dish! The cod fish was marinated with red miso and baked to a perfection. It had a shiny caramelised layer and was delicate with a buttery texture that simply melted in my mouth. The creamy pumpkin puree and the fried broccoli interestingly looked like they had buds with the crispy rice puffs complemented the fish really well.
Each oyster had its own signature taste to it from the briny ones to the sweet ones and the creamy ones. The sun seeker was my favourite with its plumpier and creamier texture that was perfectly balanced.
Simple and unassuming, the salmon was pan-fried to perfection with a crispy skin and medium done inside. The miso glaze added a combination of savory, salty and sweet element to the dish, which complemented very well with the butter rice. Two thumbs up for a satisfying and delicious Asian-fusion dish. đź‘Ťđź‘Ť
New store aptly named as "Hook" as it serves up dishes from the sea. The seafood chowder topped with pan-seared fish is my definition of a warm comfort meal for every seafood lover.
The red snapper fillet was nicely done to give it a crispy skin and though it was lightly seasoned, it got a boost of flavour from the seafood chowder. The chowder was a slightly creamy white broth that came with clams, mussels, potatoes, edamame, carrots and corn. Overall filling and satisfying.
A treasure bag packed with the ocean's bounty - seabass (not shown in photo), a large hairy crab (upgraded from flower crabs), mussels, clams, cockles and prawns. Steaming the seafood retained its natural sweetness and flavour, and making it a healthier dish. The highlight was the Harvested XL Clams that were astonishingly large and it was such a delight to eat in one mouthful. They were more chewy than normal-sized calms, and filled with juiciness and a stronger taste of the ocean.
Ooh La La...a large comforting soupy bowl of beehoon filled with generous amount of lala. The seafood broth was light yet very flavourful with added aroma from the bits of pork lard; and the bee hoon were simmered nicely and soaked up the richness of the broth. Deliciously slurping up every goodness the bowl has to offer.
