Lovely juicy and tender beef patties on a charcoal bun!
Tried two different burgers - classic double cheeseburger ($8.40) and truffle mushroom double burger ($10.50), which came with fries as a side and upgradeable with additional fee to other variants of fries (e.g. cheese). Very affordable and value for money.
Really liked the strong truffle and earthy taste of the sautéed mushrooms and cream sauce, I felt it complemented the burger really well. Fries were also crispy and seasoned well. Albeit the charcoal bun didn’t exactly have a charcoal taste to it, there were soft and soaked up the natural juices of the beef patties. I would have also preferred the beef patties to be more medium rare than medium well, but they were still juicy nevertheless.
Staff were also warm and friendly, letting us know the waiting times and giving recommendations. Also liked the design and clarity of the menu. Will revisit again if in the area!
I love scallion pancakes and this was crispy and fluffy. There was however too much sauce in its Liang’s Chicken Sandwich which overpowered the taste and made the whole thing salty. Also it was difficult to eat without everything falling apart. Portion was filling.
Burger patties were really juicy and delicious! I love the combination of The ShackBurger (double up $12.70), and preferred that over the Smoke Shack (double up $14.40)as the flavor combination was much better. Size up to double patty, it’s worth it! I personally think for such quality, it is rather worth its affordable price tag.
Milkshakes ($6.90) were thick and creamy but overly sweet for our palates. We ordered a coffee milkshake and vanilla milkshake. The coffee one tasted great initially with a strong coffee aroma but halfway through, we just thought it was too sweet and would have been better if shared with another person or two. Vanilla milkshake was a big no for us, it didn’t have a fragrant vanilla flavor to it imo.
Really liked the cheese fries ($5.90). Though it would have been better if the cheese was spreaded a bit more evenly. Add a bit of black pepper to enhance its flavor!
It was a short queue on a weekday at 9.45am and once they’ve opened at 10am, we were at the ordering counters within 10 minutes and were served shortly after that. Overall, a pleasant experience and I’m definitely coming back for the burgers!
The Patty Melt was a good combination of juicy, thick and quality beef patty, caramelised onions and pickles. Not forgetting the cheddar cheese too! It’s like a burger but using bread instead. Love the crusty bread which added to the overall texture!
The Crispy Fried Chicken sandwich lived true to its name, very crispy! The chicken fillet was a really huge piece yet doesn’t compromise on its juiciness. The combination with cucumbers and cabbage slaw added to that crunch too, even though I think it could do more vegetables. Nevertheless still amazing! It’s also slightly spicy.
It was my first visit to park bench deli and I am definitely coming back. The made to order hot sandwiches are so hearty and amazing even though slightly expensive but using Burpple Beyond there’s 1-for-1. Staff was very friendly as well. Loved the whole vibe of the cafe.
Went there on a weekday morning around 9.30am and there were a lot of seats available. Do note that the sandwiches are only available from 10.30am onwards on weekdays.
