This is perfect for a rainy day where you just want some comfort food. The soup is soooo flavourful, and there is a variety of ingredients that you can choose from. My go-to choices are luncheon meat, taupok, beancurd skin, fish roe dumplings and others.

Ordered the regular ramen to try, and the broth is regular soy sauce. The price is definitely decent. Broth is slightly oily but still acceptable. Good thing about this place is that it’s halal certified. The ambience is good as well. They serve other interesting ramen such as daichi tomato ramen and even clams ramen.

Tried the pork gyozas and prawn gyozas. To be honest, the gyozas weren’t very mind-blowing. The gyozas can be crispier. The side dishes stole the show! Each set comes with 2 sides, and we tried the stir fried ginger pork (I really enjoyed this!) stir fried eggs with chives (normal), chicken nanban with tartar sauce (yummy but oily) and deep fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce (yummy!). Each set also comes with rice (you can select your portion) and soup (miso or vegetable). This is worth a try. Be ready to queue though!

The concept and price of this place is similar to Aston’s. Got their chargrill spicy chicken chop with homemade dynamite sauce and it’s pretty nice. The homemade sauce is not as spicy as I hope it would be, so it lacks a bit of kick, even though it states “fiery”. The chicken is however pretty tender. You can choose up to 2 sides, and I got the fries and mesclun salad. However, I would recommend their mash potato because it’s very very smooth and yummy, and also recommend sauté Brussels sprouts. Overall, price is very affordable, and ambience is not bad, and service staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Ordered the sausage fest for $12. As you can tell from the picture, they are super generous with their ingredients. Two sausage patties with eggs and cheddar cheese. Very delicious and not too jelak. Got the plain bagel, but found it A BIT dry, but still not too bad. Service by the staff is very good. They were very friendly and welcoming. The shop wasn’t as crowded as the one at icon village. Will definitely go back and try other bagels!

Back here once again for their Mazesoba! The Nagoya style one is their signature dish. As usual, the noodles are chewy and nice. The minced meat is really well-flavoured, but a bit too salty. Requested for less green onions. You can request for free upsize for the noodles too! This comes with side of soup and free flow tea. Staff are very friendly too. However, seats are limited.

Got 3 tacos for $15. They have 4 meat options to choose from - Ma’s fish, beef brisket, chicken tikka, and pulled bbq jackfruit. You can mix and match, which is great! Got the fish, beef and chicken, and my favourite is the chicken and beef. The fish is a bit fishy for my liking. All the flavours are really flavourful, highly recommend since it’s so affordable. Atmosphere is not bad, but be prepared for noise since it’s a beer bistro afterall.

First time trying their mala ppong and I really love it!! Mala lovers would enjoy this! The soup really has the mala taste and there’s really a kick, and not suitable for people who can’t take spicy food because you can’t choose the spice level for this. As usual, the noodles at nipong naepong can never go wrong, very chewy and yummy. Would order this again!! Bad thing is that there is always a long queue and we waited for around an hour to get a seat on an ordinary weekday, so be prepared to wait!

Crispy top layer with a cheesy layer of mac & cheese. Think the cheese used is nacho cheese. Would recommend to get this to share with another main dish because it can a bit jelak. This place has a nice ambience and the staff are very friendly. Plus point of this place is that no GST and service charge is charged so it’s really affordable. Price is reasonable as well!

The Mac and Cheese is really creamy and cheesy, not too salty. The double portion costs $16.90, which is good for sharing. The spicy topokki is really good! The topokki sauce goes so well with the chicken tenders, and the gravy is savoury and well-flavoured. Take note, due to the new restrictions in restaurants, diners might have to spend some time waiting as there are fewer available seats due to social distancing. But still, the queue moves fast.

Picnic’s concept consists different individual stores in area, where they have ramen, pasta, Omakase burgers, chicken rice etc. Decided to try the burgers at Omakase because I was curious of how the impossible burger would turn out. The impossible burger is vegetarian, so mock meat is used. The mock meat is really good and as a meat lover, it really tastes like the real meat!! Chose the chilli cheese fries for sides and it’s really nice and not spicy at all (would prefer for it to have more kick).

Was recommended this very affordable find in the neighbourhood. Got the karata ramen (spicy) at $7.50, and added $1 for egg, and topped up to make a set that comes with 3 pieces of gyoza and a drink (total price $12.50), which was very affordable. The broth was really spicy but flavourful and packs a punch. You can choose the spiciness level though! The gyozas are really good and crispy on the outside. The seats are a bit squeezy though, so be prepared to squeeze a little. Or you can always choose to find them on food delivery apps :)
