Perfect Comfort food. It comes with ingredients such as prawn, pork, bitter gourd, meat tenders, beancurd etc. Eating this always leaves me satisfied, and the uncles and aunties have great service too. If you think the portion is too small, you can upsize to the $5.90 bowl, or get their set with chicken wing which is $6.30.
Tried the Penang Hokkien mee prawn noodle from this stall. It’s $3 for the small bowl, which is very decently priced and so affordable. I like that the bean sprouts don’t taste very very raw. The soup is also very flavourful. They are also very generous with the other ingredients as well. Perfect for a cold weather!
The salted egg chicken rice is $6 if you are an NTUC union member! They are super generous with the chicken and salted egg sauce here. Many chicken chunks and they are very tender, and it’s drizzled in adequate amount of salted egg sauce so it won’t be too salty. It can get jelak towards the end, but still very satisfying.
This set is really worth and so yummy. The black pepper gravy is so flavourful and not too spicy but just right with a light tinge of spiciness. The chicken is really tender as well. Thought it would be dry overall, but it all blends well. However, the sauce is slightly salty. Overall very satisfied with this meal and really affordable as well! The owner is very friendly too.
Was recommended this very affordable find in the neighbourhood. Got the karata ramen (spicy) at $7.50, and added $1 for egg, and topped up to make a set that comes with 3 pieces of gyoza and a drink (total price $12.50), which was very affordable. The broth was really spicy but flavourful and packs a punch. You can choose the spiciness level though! The gyozas are really good and crispy on the outside. The seats are a bit squeezy though, so be prepared to squeeze a little. Or you can always choose to find them on food delivery apps :)
The charsiew sauce is sweet and the chicken is pretty tender. Quite an interesting dish. However, the other dishes available are slightly pricey. One good thing about this is that it is halal certified!
This stall is located along J-walk, the linkway from Westgate to JEM/IMM. The cheese meatballs are really good!! Asked for chilli, but they gave me ketchup instead sadly. Would go back just for the meatballs!
Ordered the cheese pizza ($6.50) and it’s very decent! The pizza was flavourful and crust is thin and crispy. Not bad for a neighbourhood cafe. Cafe is overall very affordable, but the drinks can be pretty expensive. Ice-cream is pretty cheap, at $1.80 per scoop. Quite a good dining experience. However, tables are squeezed quite close to one another.
