Kota Damansara is blessed with a great cafe that makes yummy brunch staples with a twist. Try the Rendang Benedict (RM26) that features two poached eggs perched on a croissant topped with pulled pork rendang. Worth the calories is the Drunken Frenchman (RM28), a sinfully delicious combination of fluffy French toast, pork bacon, caramelised bananas, Guinness stout reduction and a scoop of vanilla ice cream – Burppler Audrey Chew assures that you won't be disappointed with this order! Coffee-wise, get the dark and fruity Long Black (RM9), or the creamy Taro Latte (RM14) for something on the sweeter side.

This casual Japanese joint in Sunway Giza is a hit for their sweet buffet deals – RM68 for lunch and RM88 for dinner. This includes free-flow beer (at dinner, expect sake too)! Must-orders include these community favourites: Saba Shioyaki (grilled mackerel with sea salt) and the Shake Kabuto Shioyaki (RM19.50). Sashimi lovers – go wild with the Akami Sashimi and the Shiro Maguro Sashimi. Ps. Order wisely as there’s a RM50 per 100g charge for unfinished food.

“Good Vietnamese food at ridiculously affordable prices,” says Burppler Calie Tang – that’s enough reason to swing by Guess What for a meal! A must-order is the beef-loaded Australian Beef Pho (RM13.90) with flavourful beef broth. Otherwise, the Pork Banh Mi chock-full of fresh veggies and meat slices is a steal for only RM7.90. Don't end a Vietnamese meal without a cup of coffee. The sweet and strong Phat Hai (from RM5.50) with a chocolatey aftertaste is not to be missed.

A mere 10-minute drive away from the main F&B hub is a hidden Nyonya gem that is great for big family dinners. Dive straight for their signatures like the Tamarind Prawns (from RM30), Yum Yum Egg (RM13), Paku Lemak (from RM12) and the Creamy Basil Chicken (from RM16). Seafood lovers, order the Fish Cutlet (from RM7 per 100g) in tamarind fish curry for medley of sweet, sour and spicy flavours. Reservations are highly recommended if you plan on swinging by for dinner, especially on weekends.

At dinner, you'll spot the crowd before you see this corner-lot restaurant. Wait patiently for your turn – it's worth it. Expect traditional Hakka dishes and some local favourites at pocket-friendly prices. Burppler XingWei Cheang stuck to the classics with her order of Lui Cha (RM13.50), Yam Abacus (RM14.90) and Stuffed Beancurd Ball (RM3 a piece). The latter was her favourite with “fluffy tofu soaking up all the flavourful broth like a sponge and was jam-packed with juicy minced meat.” Also find single-portion rice and noodles dishes like the Hakka Rang Noodles (RM9.90) with al dente egg noodles topped with savoury minced pork.

A bowl of pork noodles for only RM8? It’s no wonder there’s always a queue at this little shop. Ten Noodle serves only pork noodles only and you even get to customise your bowl! Choose the type of noodles you want (hor fun, vermicelli, yellow mee and more), the portion size, soup or dry, with or without innards and if you’d like add-ons – go for the Crispy Bean Curd (RM6) for extra crunch. The star here is the killer broth that’s sweet, salty and porky all at once. Plus, it’s loaded with generous amounts of minced pork, slices and meatballs. As Burppler Wand3ringn3k0 - said, “you will not leave this place feeling hungry.” Word.

Plan your next family dinner around belly-filling Balinese platters at this cosy spot tucked in The Strand. The dining concept here focuses on ‘mengibung’, which translates to 'communal dining', and their Paket meals are just that. Order Paket B (RM130), a bamboo basket filled with 13 delicious items like crispy fried duck, Balinese pork curry and baked sea bass served with vegetables, a variety of sambals and rice. Be sure to make room for dessert! The Bubur Campur (RM10), a traditional Balinese dessert with sweet potato, black glutinous rice, sago and more in creamy coconut milk is just divine.

This Chinese restaurant goes down in history for being one of KL’s most well-known dim sum places that dates back over 60 years. Today, you can find them tucked inside Sunway Giza Mall serving dim sum and other well-loved Chinese dishes. Fill the table with baskets of “Loy Kee” Abalone Siew Mai (RM9.80), Xiao Long Bao (RM8) and Steamed Prawn Dumpling With Chives (RM7). Also good is the Fried Radish Cake (RM6), that’s crispy around the edges and soft yet meaty in the centre. The bigger plates are not to be missed either, like the Cantonese Style Fried Noodles (from RM15) with eggy gravy, fresh prawns and pork slices.

Fans of Hong Kong roasted meats should visit this eatery for solid roast duck, siew yuk, roast chicken and more. Order the 3 Combination Rice or Noodle set (from RM13) which gives you a choice of any of the meats above – we’re big fans of the juicy and fatty siew yuk and the melt-in-your-mouth char siew. If you’re here on your lunch break with the team, get the Hong Kong roasts to share – Half Roast Chicken (RM28), Roasted Pork (from RM15) and more. Skip the plain rice and pair the meats with their Buttered Rice (RM1.50) instead.

No need to cross the bridge for Penang-style nasi kandar anymore, Burpplers! With more than 15 dishes to choose from, you and your mates can feast on delicious meat and veggie options including Ayam Kurma (RM6), Kari Sotong (from RM8) and Daging Rendang (RM3.50). Alternatively, the Murtabak Kambing (RM8) is also good. Think a thick piece of roti stuffed generously with minced mutton, onions and minced egg served with curry and pickled onions. Cool off after that spicy meal with a cup of fresh Lassi (from RM5).

Pen this Korean joint down for fun, yummy AND affordable Korean barbecue dinners with the gang. Begin with Set C (RM87) that is perfect for three to four hungry people. Look forward to excellent quality meats like the soy sauce lamb, pork belly and grilled chicken. For cuts worth splurging on, the U.S Angus Beef Premium Rib Eye (RM75) and Pork Ribs Marinated in Special Soy (RM31) are worth an additional order. For a meal that brings on the heat, note this Szechuan spot down for fiery dinners with friends. A little birdie tells us this restaurant’s chef is from China, and they import all ingredients from there too, so rest assured you’re in for an authentic Szechuan dining experience. Try the signature Chongqing Grilled Fish (from RM68) in various flavours like spicy, black bean and black pepper, Sichuan Pickled Cabbage Fish (from RM68) and the Pork Slices in Hot Chilli Oil (RM38). Load up on the simple Egg Fried Rice (RM18) that’s the best vehicle to soak up all of that chilli goodness.
