2nd visit to Aura; this time, for a dear friend’s Hen’s Night!
Thought of this place when my friends and I were brainstorming for a place with kind of a fancy ambience but yet wouldn’t burn a giant hole in our pockets (well, the latter is cos we could use the #burpplebeyond 1-for-1 promo for the mains!). Not gonna review the mains again as I had the same main I had the previous time haha (I find it hard not to choose beef when there is beef on the menu😂), but I would just say that I enjoyed my main (not sure whether it was partly cos we had dinner late and were really starving when we arrived😆). We ordered this scampi pasta to share on top of our mains, and all of us thought this was pretty good. As there were 4 of us, we only had a few mouthfuls each, and I think each of wished we had more to go around. The pasta sauce was tasty without being too rich, and I don’t think I would have any issues polishing this off myself as a meal. The scampi was also fresh, with a nice springy bite to it.

Dinner yesterday was full of awesomeness😍 This is my favourite uni pasta in Singapore, hands down! Even P, who is typically not that big a fan of uni, agrees that this is really good. So for people who haven’t tried this before, do yourself a favour and try it😋 Coupled with scallops and shaved black truffle, the burst of flavours of this dish just made me relish every mouthful. I know I typically do not sing such high praises of restaurants in my reviews, but this probably shows how much I like this uni pasta! Of course, the uni pasta comes with quite a hefty price tag, so if u’re not the type who has no qualms spending on food, you might feel the pinch. Nevertheless, I personally think it’s worth the occasional splurge.
If you were to order only one expensive thing in this restaurant, just go for the uni pasta. The rest of the pastas on the menu are actually quite reasonably priced (in the higher 20s).
P.s. the photo show the half portion sizes as we split each pasta into two!
