Papi's Tacos offer a simple line-up of tacos that comes in a set of two. The Pescado has fried dory fish, purple cabbage, pickled carrots and smoked chipotle aioli, wrapped in soft flour tortilla. It was a mixed of vibrant flavours and textures as you get the crunch, the freshness and tanginess from all the elements, with a slight heaty spice from the sauce.
These quesadillas were perfectly charred to give it a smoky flavour that paired delicously well with the chicken and gooey melted cheese; and kicked up a notch of spiciness from the jalapeno and peppers. Absolutely deliciosa! 🇲🇽
Each bite produced a crunch sound which just showed the the crunchiness of the taco shell. The snapper fish fillets were nicely fried to a golden brown while retaining the tenderness of the meat. Dressed with chipotle mayo and mango salsa and served with salad and curly fried , it was a light and fresh meal that was tentalising to the taste buds. I would give it 👍👍 if the mango pieces were sweet and less raw.
Firstly, kudos to the staff for your friendly and attentive service! We had a pregnant friend and just as we were discussing about the doneness of the beef steak, the staff offered to split the beef into half medium-rare and half well done. Thank you and we really appreciate it! 😊😊😊
Grilled to perfection, the beef ribeye steak was tender and tasty. Topped with chimichurii sauce, it was a great pairing that added freshness and zing to the grilled meat.
Mexican Torta Burger ($18)
Chicken Quesadillas ($12)
Messy yet satisfying, the burger had an interesting taste thanks to the generous amount of avocado and onions. The zesty chipotle aioli in it elevated the burger to the next level, giving it a smoky, spicy flavour.
The quesadillas turned out pretty tasty too with chunky pieces and I think there was jalapeno sauce in it as there was the occasional spicy bite. There wasn't the gooey-ness from the melted cheese but the acid tomato salsa added a nice freshness and balance.
Anticuchos are a popular Peruvian street food. The marinated grilled beef skewers ($16) were well seasoned and the meat was chewy tender. Served with chimichurri sauce, the bold savoury flavour was further intensified and the side heap of fries were super tasty. Dip some green hot sauce made from habanero peppers for an added tanginess with a hint of heat. Shiokness!!!

Get 3 for 2 on Tacos Tuesday! Soft tortillas were used for the tacos instead of the hard crunchy tortillas which I prefer. The prawns in the tacos were flash fried and topped with Asian slaw. Though light with good texture, it was lacking in flavour. On the other hand, the fish tacos were a hit favourite. The fish were beer-battered and fried to a crisp brown. Topped with fruit coleslaw and creamy chipotle mayo, it was refreshing with every bite.
Extras: Missing in the photo is the Galbi Short Rib tacos ($14 for 2) that tasted like mini-wraps filled with Korean grilled meat and Asian slaw. Small but packed with real flavour.
