This place never disappoints simply for its quality.
Get the baked oysters with cheese shown in the picture, ee fu noodles, pekin duck and of course, always end the meal with orh nee (yam paste dessert).
If you are at KSL City Mall, you might spot two giant urns that are hard to miss. People are queuing to get their lunch fix at this restaurant. I like 3 of the dishes that I ate.
The tonic soup is gentle on the palette. There are hints of herbs and ingredients like dang gui, dang shen, red dates and pork ribs that is simmered for hours to give it flavour. It's also nourishing for the body. (RM 18.80)
The roast meat platter consists of classics like roast duck, siew yoke and char siew. The last time I had good char siew was many years ago in Hong Kong and the char siew here is definitely good stuff. Charred and filled with a smokey flavour, it comes with a really dark gooey sauce. It's strong in flavour yet not too sweet. The sio bak and roast duck are not very memorable but decent. (RM 34.80)
The noodles are springy and savoury. The shallot oil really helps to bring out the flavour and its very well-balanced. (RM 3.50)
Overall, quite shiok.
