Set Lunch for $12.90++, served with some sides (kimchi, coleslaw and preserved radish) and a drink!

My jjigae was served with an undercooked egg, freshly cracked into the soup before being served! Gave it a light stir and buried the egg to have it cooked (i dont fancy runny eggs).

The soup wasn't too heavily seasoned (i.e. not too sweet/salty/spicy), yay! It has 2-3 fat dumplings, some prawns, sotong, tofu &enoki! Really generous amount of ingredients as I was expecting just tofu &kimchi, just like in the usual kimchi jjigae. The rice is fluffy and no sticky clumps. I polished both the soup &rice bowls clean. ENUFF SAID 😋

If you like it spicy, you may want to try requesting for it to be spicier!

My second time here! The food is still as huge in portion, still as good. The wokhei of the cabbage &onions in the Cha Pong is awesome possum. Of cos the all-time favourite Ro Pong is rich and creamy! I was quite slow in eating my noodles but surprisingly, the Ro Pong didn't turn dry or overly sticky! Lotsa mussels in both bowls, all freshly opened up!

After 1-for-1, these two massive bowls suited for hungry souls only cost $22ish (less than $23 but i cant rmb down to the cents hahah) 🙌

They've some new items on their menu - korean risotto &tom yum pong! Can't wait to try them on my next visit 😛 (Do note that the new items and pizzas and excluded for Burpple Beyond)

Tried: Kimchi Mac &Cheese, Korean Seafood Ciopinno & Striploin Bap.

Korean food has always come across as a cuisine that's rich in flavours for me. The fusion food has a much mellowed down taste. That said, the dishes are still well-prepared and portions are pretty good for sharing. The food each has an interesting twist to the otherwise usual korean/western dish - e.g. striploin instead of the usual stir fried pork in your bibimbap, and kimchi in the mac & cheese balls! I would say that the menu is quite a novelty!

There's a whole lot of different jjampongs served here! Tried 4 of 'em - Ro PPong (in photo), Tae Ppong, Vongole Ppong &Cha Ppong! The portions are pretty substantial. These 4 bowls of noodles filled up the tummies of 5 girls! Each flavour garnered individual likes for them. No letdowns! The noodles were slightly chewy &coated the creamy/gooey sauces particularly well.

We also got the Lychee Yoghurt Slushie which was a perfect thirst quencher in washing all the rich flavours down. It's really value for money with 1 for 1 on Burpple Beyond!

Lunch Set: Sweet & Sour Pork (S) + a Half Jajangmyeon & Half Jjampong [$42++]

They serve food pretty fast so that's great for h(angry) men. The sweet &sour gravy is served in a separate bowl from the plate of fried pork. The strong smell of vinegar intrudes your nasal path and goes all the way up! Jang, you'll be thinking why is this dish their signature when it smells kinda bad.

But wow, when our teeth sank into the pork chop (yes they taste like pork chop coated in a thin batter!! score points for zero clots of fats, zero grease and such tender meat!), we were pleasantly amazed. The sweetness of this dish came from the pork. While the sour vinegar taste got instantly balanced out. The gravy has quite a thick yet smooth consistency (think: goooey) which coats the meat really well.

The jajangmyeon has lotsa onions in them which makes it so fragrant! The texture of the noodles were al dente. I could do with even more chew thou! But hey, that's just my personal preference. My friend commented that this Jajangmyeon was the closest she could get to the ones she had in Korea. I can't even recall how Jajangmyeon in Korea tasted like.. It's been too long!

Jjampong features the same noodles but in a seafood soup. The soup is quite nice and doesn't taste like the usual instant korean noodles soup base. It has a stronger seafood flavour to it.

Go give this place a try, the sweet and sour pork is nothing like the typical tze char's rendition (:

My favourite soondubu place! Their tofu is made in-house daily &is so soft. The closest that I can find to my favourite one in Jeju. I like the classic pork one &if you’re hungry enough, you can get the combo meal (choice of hotplate + any soondubu).

PERFECT FOR THE RAINY DAYS.

Absolutely loved the pork belly, it got all our votes! The layer of fats albeit looks a little intimidating, has a slight delectable chew and releases the aroma of the meat as you chew on. The meat portion is tender &has light grilled taste to it. BELLY PERFECT! Only wishing that there’s more slices!

Also recommended would be the Yuzu Makgeolli! They brew their own makgeolli &it’s blended with ice, making it extremely refreshing in our climate.

The risotto is done to perfection; that texture of the rice grains, the huge ratio of seafood to carbs. Good main to share around!

*Skip the tofu chips thou, not fascinating. They’re like Ritz’ toasted chips with a slightly undercooked centre. MEH.
