Hawker & Coffeeshop
$1 for this peanut pancake with add on of the peanut butter spread. This combination makes it amazingggg. Granny’s pancake stall can be found at various hawker centres:
- Hong Lim Market
- Toa Payoh lorong 8
- Ghim Moh market
- Whampoa market blk 91
Another of my pursuit of satisfying lor mee in SG and I found another similar to that of amoy street at whampoa market!
$4 for this bowl full of ingredients: good old lor bak, chunks of fish, fried stuff. The gravy was flavourful.
[8 pcs for $11] was more than enough to feed the 2 of us. The chicken is really super tender! Sauce was also gooood. However the crispy coating will turn soft if you leave it soaked in the sauce for too long. Will be back to try their other dishes!
On a side note, we also ordered the seafood pancake which was SUPER oily. Not recommended.
I love lor mee and not many places sell really really good lor mee but this stall in clementi is one of my top favourites!! Just look at the lor bak 😍 soft and flavourful! With added crunch from the fried fish and dumpling. Not forgetting the gravyyyy which is not just a thickened dark colored soup. The taste is heavenly.
Well marinated and juicy fried chicken!! With caramelised onions, generous slices of tomatoes and lettuce and lots of different sauces added. Add $1 for fries.
Not sure of the stall number and name, but it's the only stall that sells burgers with a chalkboard menu :)
Better than yakun IMO. The kaya is not too sweet but fragrant and thick. The bread was toasted to perfection, achieving that crisp on the outer and soft on the inner. Plus that semi melted slab of butter 😍
Did not get to try their donut and noodles. Will definitely be back for it!!
It is no surprise why the business isn't as good as before.
This standard combo costs $4.30, nothing special and the teh gao siew dai was rather bland. Paying a few more cents to get a set from Ya Kun is a better deal
Located at the corner of level 1, next to the famous Grandma's ban mian stall. This bowl of goodness costs $3 and it's full of lor ba (braised meat), fried fish and ngoh hiang. No egg nevermind, the other ingredients will suffice. The gravy is also flavorful and remain gooey till I finished everything.
($6.50) choose your sides - I ordered sweet corn and sauteed potatoes. This piece was well fried, crispy on the outside while the fish remains tender and juicy on the inside!
This tze cha serves quality food (hence waiting time might be abit long). This crispy chicken was tender and juicy, fried skin was fragrant. We also ordered sweet and sour pork, hor fun, fried rice and thai style kailan (which was salty). I personally didn't like the black pepper pork ribs too as it was more of the simmered texture with lotsa gravy (vs my expectation of the fried pork ribs coated with sauce)
At least 1kg of crab here. The crab meat is not as juicy as it would be if it was steamed. Couldn't really taste the yam because the shredded yam were all coated with salted egg. Felt a little heaty after eating :/ good for family sharing.
