Candlenut's lohei comes with crispy lotus roots, cashew nuts and their own sauce infused with gula melaka. The cashew nuts give it a special taste and crunch from the usual peanuts. Personally felt pistachios might level up the taste more.
Crispy lotus roots were delicious, the gula melaka taste was missing after the mix of different flavours though. But it's interesting how a simple lohei can have different variations.
