Obihiro Meibutsu Pork Belly Don - $14.80
·
Basic bowl of rice bowl, which only comes with layered of flavourfully grilled pork belly. Some slices are tender while some are tough to bite, which is a pity. All donburi comes with classic miso soup and Japanese pickles. Maybe try out regular portion first instead of upsizing like I did

Sen-Ryo Special Bento - $29.80
·
Revisiting Sen-Ryo, this time on a weekday to try out their lunch menu. Their Special Bento is rather iconic, which comes with chef's selection of best 9. There’s assortment of sashimi, sen-ryo's tamagoyaki and more. Served with Japanese rice, miso soup and warabi mochi. Love the salmon sashimi and pumpkin croquette. Do give it a try

Australian Wagyu Don - $18.80
·
Walk-in to Sen-Ryo during weekend is tough, as the restaurant is popular for its delicious Japanese cuisines, thus online booking is recommended. I tried the wagyu beef don, and added sen-ryo Tamagoyaki ($2.50). Beef strips are flavourful and tender, the don could use more sauce, luckily the runny egg helped. I love the sweet savoury tamagoyaki, a great addition to savoury mains. Would be back to try their popular weekday set lunch

Megamen (Dry) - $13.90
·
Huge portion of ramen, with generous portion of noodle and bean sprouts. Thick cut braised pork is accompanied with minced pork belly, seaweed and a whole egg. I ordered double portion of garlic, double the shiokness. Suggest picking the less salty version at kiosk when ordering

Cheese Pork Katsu Set - $21.80
·
I love tonkatsu and this time I tried the savoury version, their cheese is sandwiched in between, and oozy when cutlet is getting cooked. Love the cheese oozes out from tender pork cutlet, love the shredded cabbage that balances out the flavours

Unadon Double - $14.50
·
Finally get to try this popular unagi rice bowl, when the queue wasn’t too long. The rice bowl comes with thick cut unagi, good texture. Feel free to add more sauce for extra flavour. Also ordered the Umaki ($5.50) for sharing. Good meal with reasonable pricing, worth the short queue

Tan Tan Men - $15.90
·
Finally trying this ramen shop, when the Q is shorter. Tan Tan Men enticed me more than Shoyu Ramen. Flavourful broth, with noticeable taste of sesame paste. No complain about the ramen. Do try their side dish Te-Ba Gyoza ($8.90), which has Gyoza filling stuffed in chicken wings

Omote Chirashi - $17.80
·
It’s the first time I’m eating at Omote, after the rebranding. First mouth of their Chirashi and I found the flavours all familiar. The fresh sashimi cubes are mixed with sweet salty sauce. Lovely meal, looking forward to revisiting, especially when the queue isn’t too long

Vegetable Set - $12.80
·
This is the only option without shrimp. This set comes with vegetables, assortment of 5 kinds. Nice tempura coating, not oily at all. I also added an egg for $2.50, which is a must have for tendon, in my opinion

Sansho Spicy Mazesoba - $15
·
Back at Reiwa Soba to makan of their 100% buckwheat flour soba. The Sansho Spicy Mazesoba is served cold, topped with spicy minced pork with a mild kick! Accompanied with leek, Alfalfa sprouts, tenkatsu and nori. Mixed with homemade sesame sauce for the classic wafu flavours. Definitely prefer this over their classic soba with pork slices

Weekend 3-Course Set Lunch - $68
·
The set lunch comes with array of starters and mains for you to pick from. For starter, I picked the Wagyu Beef Tataki. Marinated with yuzu ponzu, which is a refreshing start. Main course I picked Miso Marinated Black Cod. Thick chunks of lovely cod fish, savoury thanks to the miso marination, pairs perfectly with rice, Japanese style. Dessert wise I picked Lemon Yuzu, which comes lemon mousse, yuzu jam and cocoa crumble. Always love something zesty to end the meal. Lovely meal at a chic environment with great service, no wonder the long reservation list

Matcha Mooncake w Mochi - $9.90
·
Manage to try this vegan matcha mooncake on the actual day of Mid-Autumn Festival! Mooncake has a flaky crust encases a rich matcha mung bean paste with a ball of soft sticky mochi in the middle. This limited edition mooncake is not too sweet, goes well with a cup of tea. I gotten the Spring’s Field Oolong Tea ($6.90), which origins from Kyushu Japan
