Feeling Fancy
I ordered the baked lasagne for $18 (bef gst), cooked in "Grandma's style", which made me imagine the hands behind this dish belonged to a nice wrinkly grandma doing what grandmas do best — splurge on the ingredients and salt.
there was sooooo much meat (beef i assume) in this dish I lost the lasagne pasta because the ratio of beef to pasta was about 4:1. Not complaining because I was sooo stuffed. My only qualms about this were that it was too salty. The other dishes I ordered (Proschetta & Spicy Oven Baked Chicken) were also a tad too salty for me, so i'd reckoned italians love heavy flavour.
the melted cheese seated ontop was so so good though; the only component that was unexpectedly not as salty as I had expected. it was light, fluffy and a little sweet, while remaining slightly heated up in its oozy state in this little old granny's pot.
one of the best lasagnes i've ever eaten.
dish rating: 4/5
- minus 0.5 for saltiness & another 0.5 for the jelatness before i cld finish the dish
service, ambience, decor were all rly pleasant. damn ang mor vibes because a lot of the service staff were italians and you dont see that often in singapore.
prices were a bit steep tho. 2 mains 1 starter no drinks = $65 sgd after gst & service charge
overall: 3.5/5
