HEREāS TO MY FAVOURITE BOWL OF DUMPLING NOODLES IN THE WHOLE OF SINGAPORE - think plump, juicy dumplings with a generous amount of minced meat, shrimps and chestnut cubes encased within, served atop a delectable bowl of springy noodles drenched in a delightfully savoury sauce š¤Ŗ I grew up eating the noodles from this stall and apart from the rise in price over the years due to inflation, practically nothing has changed - the noodles, sauce and dumplings are always of consistent quality and it always leaves me craving for more š
Thunder Tea Rice, aka ęč¶ (Lei Cha), from a stall at the air-conditioned Gourmet Paradise foodcourt located at Toa Payoh HDB Hub. Initially, I had high hopes for this dish, after reading up on several good reviews about it. However, I am a little disappointed by how underwhelming it is. The ingredients were just the usual TTR ingredients, nothing special. The soup was terribly diluted and lacked the strong tea taste. Overall, with its slightly hefty price point, I feel that this is not worth queuing up for and I have definitely eaten much better TTR at other places in Singapore.
OVERALL RATING: 5.5/10
Yummy thunder tea rice! Although the vegetables were a tad too oily, at least drinking the soup kinda 'washed down' the greasiness š It is reasonably priced at $3.50 per serving with white rice and $4 with brown rice. You could just buy the tea (aka "č¶ę±¤") alone for $1.50 too! šµāš¼
I've patronised this stall several times, and the average waiting time on weekends (during lunch time) is around 30-40mins. Needless to say, coming on weekdays would be much better where it is not as crowded and the queues are way shorter.
Do note that their working hours are only from 6AM - 2:30PM, and they are closed on Mondays š¤

average tasting. v generous with the portion of rice but I feel that they should be less stingy with the chicken :-(
A breaded mixture of fish & chips and fried chicken, topped with nacho cheese. Loved the fusion between the deep fried fish and chicken! Really digging the cheese that accompanied this dish as well hehe yummmm š
