For RM78 nett/pax, it’s a pretty delicious deal! The only catch is that you gotta finish what you order for any wastage will be charged as per ala carte prices. I definitely took my time devouring each dish ordered (7 in total - not an easy feat).
Had my pick of the steamed spare ribs with yam and garlic, steamed rice rolls with shrimps, steamed custard bun with egg yolk, steamed chicken feet with black pepper, fried fishballs, chilled sea coconut but the absolute winner? The steamed prawn dumplings! I would definitely recommend this. Plump and juicy prawns, enveloped in silky dumpling skin. Superb. The setting is definitely fancier than your standard yum cha spot, but the quality of dim sum does match its premium price. Totally recommended.
Decked in beautiful 19th Century Chinese furnishings, Lai Po Heen provides an upscale and unique dining experience that’s unlike your usual yum cha standards. There are tens of dumpling selections, congee and delicious fried morsels (the deep fried prawn and lobster flower rolls, RM23, are impressively well-done) to choose from. Prices range from RM20 to RM45.
I highly recommend against skinny jeans.
