🍜 Oodles Of Noodles 🍝
If you like your Hokkien noodles wet then you will love this! Love that this came with clams unlike any other Hokkien mee. Clams made the broth a lot sweeter & tastier. The second last time I had this, I was disappointed & could taste a difference. I gave them my feedback & found out their chefs has changed so I stopped going for a while. Returned again recently with my Indonesian friends that were visiting & standard has picked up once again. My Indonesian Friend thought it was the best Hokkien mee he had as he was a fan of wet styled. How about you? Do you rather dry or wet Hokkien mee?

Delicately arranged together with cassis meringue, lavender marshmallows and ice cream. Designed with red pepper gel making it a beautiful dessert on a perfect night of laughter and friendship. 💕
PS Desserts here are aesthetically interesting but not that cheap. Sigh. Beauty, indeed, is expensive, huh? 😟

Black Sesame Miso Sumo Ramen ($23)
.
Whilst the price could first appear daunting, @SumoBarHappy ‘s sumo ramen is always my go to place for value-for-money ramen bowls simply because of the extensive 6 types of meat toppings that comes with each bowl vs the typical 2-3 slices of char siew most other ramen shops serve with their ramen bowls. So they have made it even better by offering 3 new soup bases with daring taste profiles in-house aside from their traditional collagen rich tonkotsu broth.
.
The Black sesame miso broth which is really interesting as it is made from house miso blend with black sesame and roasted garlic! The result is a greyish looking broth that brings about a very fragrant aroma from the sesame and a nutty texture to the broth.
This unassuming store in the basement coffeeshop of Sim Lim Square is where we would head to on a cool day. Quan Co Ba serves familiar Vietnamese dishes like their signature Mixed Beef Kway Teow ($6) — a true belly-warmer chock full of thinly sliced beef, meatballs and slippery rice noodles. For Burpple Tastemaker Jason Wong, it's the Stewed Beef ($6) that hit the sweet spot. There's an option to get noodles, rice or bread with it, and he recommends ordering the noodle soup version. Slippery rice vermicelli noodles soaked in a sweet and fragrant beef broth "whose spice gradually creeps up on you, culminating in a tongue tingingly pleasant fireness in the mouth". If rice rolls are your jam, Tastemaker Jason implores you to try the Vietnamese Ham Rice Roll ($6) — a variant of the usual rice spring rolls that features thin, delicate rice sheets topped with bouncy Vietnamese sausage and fried shallots. He explains while the dish is typically eaten for breakfast, he could have it at any time of the day!

Located right next to Nickeldime Drafthouse at Novena Gardens, this casual Vietnamese eatery dishes out authentic staples, and may just be your next favourite spot to satisfy a pho craving. The Australian Beef Pho ($14) is a fail-safe choice, but if you’re okay with a little heat, get the Spicy Australian Sliced Beef Noodles (Hue Style) ($14) — instead of the usual flat rice noodles, this uses rice vermicelli, similar to the ones used in Laksa. Not only is the broth the perfect flavour and aroma, the generous portion of ingredients is also more than enough to fill you up. Swing by with your colleagues at lunch and take advantage of their value-for-money lunch sets. For just $12, you get a choice of a Big Bowl (any pho on the menu) and one spring roll (it’s usually the Fresh Vietnamese Prawn Paper Roll unless sold out). Complete your meal with either a dessert or a soft drink for just $2.

Gu Thai Noodle Cafe takes over Montana's space at PoMo, serving authentic Thai dishes and desserts till 5am. Like its sister outlet Noodle Cafe at Golden Mile, Gu Thai Noodle Cafe also serves the same famous $1.90 Boat Noodles here. Typically sold in small bowls along Thailand's floating markets, the bite-sized portion of noodles and meat — usually pork or beef — owes its rich, robust flavours to the darkened broth. For a more substantial meal, opt for the large Boat Noodles ($6 for pork, $6.80 for beef). There are four levels of spiciness and five types of noodles to choose from — the kuey tiao noodles in less spicy broth is the crowd favourite. Turn up the heat if you like with the chilli flakes available at every table.

Open daily from 6pm to 5am, this late night ramen joint is the place to go after hours of merry making in the Clarke Quay area. Choose from four different styles of ramen, all of which come with a French lobster base broth that has been simmered for six hours. For a jolt of heat to wake you up from a tipsy stupor, go for the Spicy Miso Lobster Broth Ramen ($15.90), which comes topped with tender pork belly, chicken char siew, black pepper prawn wantons and bamboo shoots. The tongue-numbing, flavourful broth is a blend of Sichuan sancho peppers, chilli oil and three types of miso. They also serve a very tasty Fluffy Omelette Rice ($10.80).

Sitting diagonally across from Rex Cinema, Nung Len is a spacious modern Thai restaurant perfect for large groups of friends. Start with the Gai Tod Nam Pla ($10), crispy winglets dipped in Thai fish sauce, before warming your body with a classic Tom Yum Talay ($15). For mains, opt for the Khao Pad Pu ($14), fried rice with fresh crab meat, and the Kway Tiew Tom Yum Boran ($14), glass noodles soaked in addictively spicy tom yum broth served with pork, soft boiled egg and a side of crispy wonton skin. Wash it all down with a cup of Cha Yen ($3.90) before snapping a few pictures with the tuk tuk!
What's on the table: Nagoya Chicken Wings, Black Truffle Ramen, Gambler's Gold (golden ale), Chicken Karaage, Truffle Edamame, Dragon's Back IPA, Black Garlic Ramen, and Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen.
My picks are the light yet brothy Signature Tonkotsu Ramen as well as the Black Garlic Ramen with bold flavours. I'd also recommend a bottle of Dragon's Back, a medium-bodied Hong Kong craft beer, to pair with the dishes.
Many thanks to Kanshoku Ramen for the warm hospitality and Burpple for the invitation!
Beef brisket on spinach(green 💚in color) noodles. Quite a long wait. Very aldente. Love the spicy chilli and the brisket gravy which was poured over the noodles. Overall, quite tasty. Personally wished there was a better "service system" in place😄at the stall. Cost at $5.50 but the stall charge an extra $1 which is refundable upon returning your tray. If u intend to visit, go before 11.30 or after 2pm as it gets very very crowded. #beef #noodles #noodlelover #i8mondays #8dayseat #hungrygowhere #openricesg #burrple #stfoodtrending #sgfoodies #bloggersg #igsg #igers #singaporeinsiders #foodstagram
