If you are sick of the same old waffles and the same old cones, it's time you try a Puffone! Puffone is a puff pastry made to be a cone. And like @ChurnCreamery 's usual waffle cones, their puffone can also be chocolate filled at no extra charge! 😋

The Puffone is pretty good- crispy, flaky and non oily. It's similar to a croissant but is thicker and harder since it needs to hold chocolate and ice cream without turning soggy. I did detect a hint of bitterness but not too much. Coupled with the sweet but non-cloying chocolate filling, this is a cone that I'll come to have again and again.

A word of caution though, it's flaky so it will get messy. Thus, I'd recommend that you consume it in the cafe and not takeaway.

For gelato, I tasted their Matcha, Earl Grey, Blue Pea Sea Salt, Thai Milk Tea and Mystery Flavor. I liked all except the Mystery Flavor but loved their Blue Pea Sea Salt gelato the most.

Using the Blue Pea flower to give the gelato a beautiful bluish tint, this is essentially just a salted milk gelato since the Blue Pea Flower contributes no flavor to the gelato. But the balance between the sweet and salty flavors in this creamy gelato is just perfect for me!

And I was pleasantly surprised that a little drizzle (not too much) of the maple syrup does go well with the chicken wings. If you like honey BBQ wings, you should give this a try.

For those who dislike sweet stuff, not to worry because the maple syrup is served separately. On their own, the chicken wings are delicious too, not overly seasoned like some places and not too bland either. Price is a little on the high side though.

Imagine fresh lobster that is perfectly butter poached to yield a buttery taste and a texture that is melt in the mouth, then charcoal kissed to give it that extra magical smokey fragrance! It was definitely the highlight of the 10-Course The Quarters Experience Dinner!

Bingki is a Korean Dessert Cafe offering Bingsu, Toasts and Drinks. Their aircon is very strong, making it an ideal place to escape a hot day with a Bingsu or cold drink. But for a rainy day, you will probably need a jacket. Charging points are available and it's also near 3 pokestops! Plus, they open till late! (Sun to Thu - 2am, Fri/Sat - 4am)

Another Injeolmi Toast. Unlike the version from Chef's Noodle, this one is served with whipped cream instead of ice cream and heaped with lots of roasted soy bean flour. I like soy bean flour but Bingki is really too generous with it such that the dessert became rather messy to consume. I do like the toast here though as they are thick, airy and crispy. But I prefer Chef's Noodle's Injeolmi. If only I can combine the two.

It's a small but cozy place tucked away in the basement of Viva Vista, a 10 mins stroll away from Haw Par Villa MRT.

Apart from mallows, they now also serve some interesting sides like Truffle Mash in Cone (more about that tomorrow) and Jenga Toast. Drinks available includes Chocolate Earl Grey, Thai Milk Tea, Thai Green Tea and Iced Mango Coconut. Their drinks are generally not too sweet, which I like. Pity there's no coffee yet. But every hot drink ordered will be served with a mini stick of their gourmet marshmallows (random flavors).

This looks like an ice cream cone but is actually truffle mash potato served in a waffle cone with honey brown sauce in a syringe. Right beneath the smooth mash potato infused with truffle oil, you will also find some yummy cereal bits.

The optional bacon is marinated in stout beer and lazed with maple syrup, adding a little sweet into this otherwise savory treat. Though I don't usually like foods that marry sweet and savory flavors (sea salt being the only exception), this one worked for me.

Overall, I find this an interesting snack to have. But it's a little pricey so next time I will just go for the non charcoal version which is S$1 cheaper.

It's hardly revolutionary, just spam fries and salted egg. But it's so addictive!

While both luncheon meat and salted egg are saltish, @carol_mel_cafe has somehow managed to balance the flavors so that the dish is neither too salty nor too sweet. One of the better executed salted egg dishes in my opinion.

The cafe is huge with fast and stable WiFi (by JTC) and food prices are reasonable. Though their menu is small with some @inthebrickyard cakes, @drurylanesg coffee and a small selection of rice bowls, pastas, sandwiches and salads, the offerings are updated every few months so that you won't be bored dining here. On the flip side, if you particularly like any dish, it will sadly be gone within a few months.

I am someone who prefers Aglio Olio/ tomato based pasta to cream pasta but I like this salted egg cream sauce. It is not too rich, probably due to the addition of curry leaves. It's also not too sweet or too salty, achieving a nice balance between the flavors. Spice level is low but chilli padi is added for that extra oomph.
