I like that the teas here have markedly lower sugar levels and stronger tea taste. I also fell in love with their QQ Rainbow "bubbles".
🌈
Made fresh daily with no preservatives or colorings, these little rainbows get their colours from matcha, yam and sweet potatoes. QQ and low in sweetness, these are perfect with milk teas!

🌸☀️🍁❄️🍵
One of the 3 new flavors launched by Each-A-Cup for the festive season, Four Seasons Macchiato is a combination of freshly brewed Jadeite Tea (a kind of Oolong Tea) and frothy salted Creme, served with a dusting of Matcha powder.
🌸☀️🍁❄️🍵
What's unique about this bubble tea is that the tea used is brewed upon order right in front of you using a compact TeaPresso machine.
🌸☀️🍁❄️🍵
While the Nespresso brews a single-serve gourmet coffee using a coffee capsule, TeaPresso extracts a single serve specialty tea from a specially made tea bag. Interestingly, the TeaPresso machine looks like a milk frother.
🌸☀️🍁❄️🍵
Taste of the resulting tea is delicate with flowery notes and not very bitter, reminding me of Jasmine Green Tea more than Oolong Tea. Paired with a layer of frothy salted creme, it makes a light milk tea drink after you mixed it up. While I didn't mind the saltiness of the drink, some of my friends didn't like it. What about you? Are you okay with a salted bubble milk tea?
It's a small but cozy place tucked away in the basement of Viva Vista, a 10 mins stroll away from Haw Par Villa MRT.
🍡
Apart from mallows, they now also serve some interesting sides like Truffle Mash in Cone (more about that tomorrow) and Jenga Toast. Drinks available includes Chocolate Earl Grey, Thai Milk Tea, Thai Green Tea and Iced Mango Coconut. Their drinks are generally not too sweet, which I like. Pity there's no coffee yet. But every hot drink ordered will be served with a mini stick of their gourmet marshmallows (random flavors).

I'm no coffee connoisseur, but @TheCoffeeAcademicsSG gave me the vibes of a place that serves serious coffee for true coffee lovers. From its name, which indicates people who study about coffee, to the fact that they have their own coffee blends recognized by The Coffee Review and their own coffee farm, they seem to know coffee very well. And what you know well, you tend to do well.
☕️
Apart from their own blend of espresso based coffees, they also offer Blue Mountain and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. Each month, they also present a special coffee inspired by different countries. For the month of September, we have the Hawaiian Sea Salt Whipped Latte (SGD 8++), a lightly sweetened iced latte topped with a fluffy cloud-like Hawaiian red lava sea salt whipped cream.
☕️
Just like a good piece of meat requires very little seasoning to make a good dish, their iced latte did not have much sugar or overwhelming flavors, leaving me to enjoy the coffee as it is with just a hint of sea salt and added creaminess from the whipped cream cloud. I like it. Even though it had ice cubes added, the coffee did not turn diluted.

Or have a meal with your drink?
🍶
According to @joobarsg Koreans tend to do the latter, making alcohol the main course instead! I may not be brought up this way but I began to understand after my meal at Joo Bar tonight.
🍶
No, it's not because their food are bad. While it's true that I found their sides a little too sweet for my liking, I think they do a good bibimbap (more about it tomorrow). But their Yucha Makgeolli Slush (SGD 22-Small, SGD 36-Large) left the deepest impression on me.
🍶
Though it is a slush, the texture is smooth and creamy. Slightly sweet with a distinct yuzu taste, this rice wine left no bitter aftertaste, making it a really enjoyable drink for non drinkers like me. One of us even commented that it tastes like Yoghurt based Bubble Tea! If you come to Joo Bar, this is a must try!
🍶
Sincere thanks to @joobarsg for hosting us tonight and & special thanks to @nahmj for asking me along! 😘

A tad expensive but a really good cup of coffee. When asked what beans it is, the staff would only reveal it's a local brand...
The latte art was disappointing though.. I couldn't really figure out what it was.

There's no fancy cup nor elaborate decor here, just some delicious Thai Milk Tea in a plastic cup.
.
Must Try if you are at Beauty World MRT Station OK? They are called Fusion Foodie and is located conveniently inside Beauty World MRT, just beside Exit A.
.
FYI, I did ask for less sweet so I'm not sure how it is usually. I was happy with what I was served though.
Served in a pot with cookies at the side, it is good for 4 refills in the tea cup provided. However the taste does get more diluted with each refill as the ice melts.
For me, SGD 11++ for an iced tea, albeit a insta-worthy one served with real lychees is a tad pricey. But if you visit them on weekdays during 11am to 1.30pm, you could enjoy this (or other specialty teas and coffees, exclusions apply) with a main course for only SGD 16-26++. I had the Asian marinated fried chicken (tastes really yummy) with waffles and iced lychee tea for only SGD 18++. A very filling and satisfying lunch!
Meet Matcha Shake Float san from Okada Coffee, currently one of my favourite cafes. Served with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream and sprinkles of matcha powder, this beautiful drink has a distinct matcha taste without being overpowering or too bitter. Shake texture is smooth and consistent. Taste is right on point; with the perfect sweetness and milkiness. Love it!!
Hiding at the 4th floor of Bugis Cube, on a weekday, it is a quiet place where you can enjoy a nice avocado coffee while sniffing in the nice aroma of their pancakes. Weekends can get crowded though.
Featured here is Bossgato Avocado SGD 5.50 Nett. It's an awesome avocado milk with coffee and ice cream. The avocado milk tasted thick, undiluted and wasn't overly sweet. Just the thirst quencher I needed in this hot weather!
P/S The bossgato will sometimes be served with vanilla ice cream instead. If you have a preference, let them know!
I always begin a Thai meal with a Thai Iced Milk Tea. A little disappointed this time round. The drink wasn't cold enough when it came. And became diluted after it became chilled enough as the ice melts.
