Weekend Adventures

A collection of the food my family and I try over the weekend!

Average range of seafood for a high tea/lunch buffet. Lacking in crab but the free flow freshly sliced sashimi (tuna and salmon) is one of the main attractions. The Bak Kut Teh was particularly worth mentioning as well as the selection of local and international desserts!

$0.70 per stick of satay is quite the price to pay but I would say it's pretty well cooked and it's one of the cheaper options in the Marina Bay Area. Would not suggest to go in the afternoon, it's far too hot!

There has been much hype surrounding this milky snow dessert from South Korea but after trying it I don't really see the hype. Except I am not $18.90 poorer. The cheesecake they served the bingsu with was pretty good though! Overall, too decadent yet not much taste.

I would say this is the best and one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants I've had the pleasure to go to over the years. The food is fantastic, the service is attentive but not intrusive and the atmosphere is really nice. On the part of dessert, I wouldn't suggest to order the Creme Brûlée, it's not smooth enough and I don't think they use real vanilla bean so it's not particularly flavourful. Everything else is really fantastic though!

I have quite mixed feelings about this place. Firstly, the atmosphere is great and I love the set up and decor of the place! However, the service was average and they ran out of napkins at 6.00 p.m (regular dinner hour) which was quite disappointing. The food was slightly too salty and was served in one lump, as in, the appetisers and main course were served together. It's the small things that matter in service. Overall, lovely place to relax for awhile, if you're willing to fork out a tad little more cash. Crazy Duck salad at SGD$18

A higher price point than most pizza places in Singapore but the thin crust pizzas are really great! The Squid Ink pizza is my personal favourite. The truffle fries were a good side order. but were a tad oily.

This is the second time I've retuned to this outlet and it was quite disappointing this time. The service was slow and the lady seemed quite unwilling to help. The noodles were soggy and the egg was minuscule. For a place that sells ramen for approximately $17.80 (including GST) I would expect something more than wooden disposable chopsticks.

Lovely atmosphere to the cafe! They were very generous with the ice cream and the pastry were soft and fluffy!

Jamie's (the outlet beside Hilton Hotel in Orchard) is one of my favourite places to get lunch. While it is not cheap, I do believe it's good value for money. This is the daily special of a Seafood Stew but I would also strongly suggest the thin crust pizzas and grilled pork chop!

It's difficult to get a seat so do make a reservation if you're hoping to get dinner. I had the Zuke Maguro and Avocado Chirashi Don ($19.80) which was served promptly. The tuna was well marinated in special soy sauce and fresh and the avocado portions were quite generous. The rice was served warm and well cooked!

There was this one time I climbed a mountain and I will never let it go.
