3.5 munchies: Resembling an omurice dish, the silky omelette was drenched with savoury mushroom sauce and topped with char siew and roast pork. The char siew might be charred nicely, but unfortunately, the roast pork was sliced so thinly that you could hardly get a good bite of it. Thankfully I got some crunch from the sprigs of blanched kailan to go with the char siew, tasty sauce, and steamed rice beneath the omelette.
There are also 2 other toppings to choose from: Roast Pork & Prawns or Roast Pork & Beef.
Place with beautiful and quiet ambience, there is good service here, its nicely decorated🍂🌿 and will definitely be a good place for couples. Food served are exquisite and mouth watering, price range is $20 onwards. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cutting into the buttery puff pastry lid releases a most wondrous waft of aromas, the heady perfume of truffle steaming up together with the scent of seafood, and the comforting smells of a Parisian bakery on a winter morning.
Sink your spoon into the creamy cauldron to unearth chunks of fresh seabass, smoked salmon and tiger prawns, all delectably succulent from their time spent poaching in the cream bath.
I particularly enjoyed peeling off the flaky crust from the sides of the pot and using it to mop up every last bit of the luscious seafood sauce.
Thanks @chinesewinegal for the very warm and personal hosting, and @veronicaphua for extending the invite!
Taste: 4.5/5
Risotto with texture a little different from the usual. It's creamier and thicker but also a little drier. Very light and healthy dish with oven baked seabass.

Food is not bad but feels a tad too pricey, and considering the price, it just leaves much to be desired. For this dish, tastes alright but the freshness & quantity of the prawns is slightly disappointing.
Ambience is quite conductive for a weekend chill out. The crowd is there but not too overwhelming. Furthermore, there seem to be live band playing during the weekend.

The Forest Alba ($35) has probably hit all the right notes with their white truffle slices, mascarpone risotto & shimiji mushrooms.
I finally found the restaurant after they have relocated! With a long history, Goldleaf is celebrating its 45th Anniversary! 🎊 Right now, Goldleaf is having a promotion from 16 March to 16 April!
On weekdays,
* Get 1 signature dish at $0.45 for every $50 spent * 45% return voucher for your next visit if you spend above $70
-----------------------------------------------
& on weekends, there's a Set menu at $45 comprising:
* Braised pork with preserved vegetables (Must try)
* Chye por Omelette (Must try)

* Goldleaf Prawn Rolls

My family's Favourite has always been the tamban fish as it is so rare to find in Singapore! To me, Goldleaf is not just a restaurant, but it is also a place where I could enjoy a heartwarming feast with my family, that is enjoyed by both young and old. 💕
The result of months of development, every mouthful is an explosion of creamy umami from the uni essence and the Parmesan that goes into the rice. Topped with uni sashimi from Hokkaido, drizzled with French sea urchin essence and finished with some Hokkaido uni paste on the side. I have not had uni paste or sea urchin essence before this, and all I can say about them is that I NEED THEM IN MY PANTRY NOW. They both look like an indiscreet paste/liquid, but the hit of umami you get when it reaches your tongue is so intense, and so powerful. It would send you into a temporary state of delirium each time it enters your mouth. Normally served with scallops, ours had garlic butter prawns on the side as the scallops were unavailable to the surprise we sprang on the chef. Would I eat this again? ABSOLUTELY, without a doubt.
Now that you are salivating and cannot stop thinking about this uni risotto, I regret to inform you that this dish is not for sale.
I would add that we had an amazing time at @thebetterfield listening to chef Shaun sharing his food stories while we wiped out the delicious food in record time. The risotto was wiped out minutes from it reaching the table, and the other dishes shared the same fate.
Not a frequent risotto eater, I think this is flavorful and not so salty (previous experiences, risotto always taste a lil more on the salty side). It has bacon and shaved shiitake, and I like it because it taste like a jap dish heh. It's interesting to eat it with a wooden spoon, guess it keeps the flavor original :) Despite looking like a small portion, it's really filling to finish the whole thing. Another thing is if you're there, do also order their ice fruit teas. I think it's really well done :)
Tsk, just how many times do they intend to modify the Dashi Risotto? While their efforts to experiment and create new flavors is commendable, it's equally exasperating when each version turns out more disappointing than the previous 😔 I still remember how amazing the original version was, topped with wonderfully crispy fried mushrooms, and it had been the reason I kept revisiting the cafe. Can they bring that back, pleeaaseeeeee?
Cod was good, creamy and fresh. Cant say the same for the risotto though.
