Scrambled eggs, sourdough bread and coffee. :) affordable and simple breakfast set. Beautiful scenery overlooking the balcony and really cosy ambience :)
Known more for its affogato and coffee, the toasted bagels are really tasty as well. I chose the smoked chicken ham bagel with its crisp mesclun mix and the cream cheese. Loved the dense inner and crisp outer texture of the bagel. I felt what really shined through was the sweet and savory cream cheese with walnuts and raisins sprinkled.
I felt it was a little early for affogatos this morning, but the coffee and bagel sandwiches in this cafe made a scrumptious breakfast/brunch!
The hot peppermint mocha when paired with a bagel sandwich was cheaper ($13.90 for a set ;)) it had a rich texture with minty hint likely from the peppermint syrup. Would definitely give it a try again!
A simple yet satisfying waffle that fulfils the criteria of a good waffle with its crisp exterior and fluffy buttery interior, paired with maple syrup and (why not!) MORE butter. Couldn’t really taste the sourdough component (might have been the speed of my inhalation of the waffle ;))
Crown can get pretty crowded on weekends during brunch. So do come early :)
Nothing like a bit of caffeine on ice to jolt me awake :)
Came in a large bowl, really love the added flavour from truffle oil. Crispy edges and doesn’t leave an overbearing oily taste.
Throwback to last Saturday’s brunch :)
I have a REALLY soft touch for scrambled eggs for weekend brunch. It’s just a simple dish that must be savoured slowly and weekdays just aren’t suitable for that. For people who don’t like scrambled, they offer sunny side up and poached..
It was my first time having hollandaise sauce. It is interesting to know that it has been around since 1573 and was called Dutch sauce (made of egg yolk, melted butter, water and lemon juice). Went superbly well with the bits of toast but yes, quite fatty I know! But hey IT (was) THE WEEKENDDDD :)
Pleasure to the palette AND to the eyes! Almost too pretty to be eaten with the berries and sunflower seeds. The hotcake was crisp on the outside and wonderfully moist and airy on the inside. The vanilla ice cream was rich (were those real vanilla beans we saw?!) and uplifted the entire dish as a dessert-ish brunch option :)
Felt that the chicken filling wasn’t that appetising. Couldn’t really make out the chunks of chicken and might have been drowned out by the sauce.
Bread felt soggy too..
Lazy Sunday brunch :) the entertainer app had 1-for-1 mains from 11am onwards - so it was a great bargain ;)
Enjoyed how the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon came together nicely. The capers also added a briny taste to the dish. The bagel was soft on the inside (spread with some cream cheese, surprise!) with the sesame crust very much intact.
Sunday brunch at the Kith Cafe at Ascott Orchard.
Located out of the way but definitely a relatively quiet spot for Sunday brunch :)
Scrambled eggs tasted creamy and seemed to have a mild tinge of cheese or cream. Topped with furikake flakes, this was a great match with sourdough bread. Smoked salmon was topped with avocado - an interesting combination!
Couldn’t really taste much of the kaya filling, unfortunately. Too cakey :(
