A satisfying croissant should be oh-so-buttery with a flaky texture and just the right number of layers to keep it light and fluffy. This is precisely what you will find at Le Pont Boulangerie, the newest French-European bakery and cafe located at Old Klang Road. Le Pont, which is French for "The Bridge", has a bakery serving all sorts of breads and pastries alongside great coffee and cafe cuisine. Pop by for tea and have some pastries with either their filtered or cold brew coffee, but you will struggle to leave empty-handed as you walk by the tempting line of pastries on the way out!

Looking for somewhere else to go after a hearty meal of bak kut teh? Seraph Awaken is Klang's latest gem for artisanal coffee appreciators. They have gone from a single roadside stall to a brick-and-mortar cafe located near the famous Under the Bridge bak kut teh. Its kopitiam-looking interior lends a nice heritage touch, perfect for grabbing a cuppa. Ask for their filtered coffee of the day, or go for the Warrior's Romance (RM14) — a cup of hot chocolate made from Tanjung Sepat cocoa beans served with a glass of pink rose infused tea to compliment the richness!

Cremeo is a pop-up kiosk located right next to the coffee bar Room 203 in Publika. Despite being a small stall, there's no stopping them from capturing the hearts of visitors with their amazing soft serve. They currently have two flavours: Thai Tea and French Vanilla Sea Salt (RM5 each) — you can even get these 2 flavours combined in a twist (RM5)! These soft serves come with any topping you like — from caramelised cornflakes (RM2) to oreo crumbs (RM1.50) and a variety of sauces (RM1-2). Be sure to visit them ASAP, they will be here only for a few months!

MACE by Coffee Chemistry Signature is a space where east meets west, catering to various preferences. A popular "eastern" choice would be the MACE whole leg chicken with rice (RM22), a Malaysian dish served with their version of sambal which you will quite easily fall in love with. Moving to the west, go for their Beef Bacon Jacket (RM26) — chicken coated with beef bacon and served with mash potatoes and mushroom brown sauce. MACE also makes their own honey comb, which goes fabulously with their affogato! With a menu that pleases many preferences, come here with your family for some quality time or with a small group of friends!

Nestled at Encorp Strand Garden Office in Kota Damansara, Fifth Palate could be your next go-to cafe for comfort food. Treat a strong case of Monday blues with their ramen served with a poached egg, slow-braised pork belly and apricot mushrooms, bathing in a hot shoyu broth (RM21). For a hearty Western plate, go for their porky Butcher's Breakfast (RM29) which includes streaky pork bacon or ham, pork sausages, portobello mushrooms and wholemeal rye bread!

With soft serve increasing in popularity, there is certainly still room for New Zealand ice cream to squeeze its way in via the doors of IDC Ice Dreams Cafe. The usual suspects are not what you should be looking out for here. In fact, go straight for the "fancier" flavours such as Spicy Apple Crumble, Fig and Honey, or even Lemongrass and Ginger (!). Prices start from RM8 and depends on how many scoops you order. Head down with a few friends to get a taste of as many flavours as you can!

Exploiting just about everyone's weakness for molten lava cakes is Softcore, a newly opened cafe in Sunway whose name couldn't be more descriptive of the food they serve. This clean, minimalistic cafe bangs out molten cake flavors from dark chocolate to white chocolate, matcha, peanut butter and salted caramel which cost between RM13-15 per serving that comes with homemade vanilla ice cream. For a complete meal, start with their range of savory dishes like grilled cheese sandwiches (RM17-21 depending on the filling) and truffle fries (RM16) to share.

If you go weak in the knees at the sight and smell of pastries and are unable to leave a bakery empty-handed, Bowery Petit will be your new haven. Burpple Tastemaker Edric's personal favourite of the choux pastry range is the Dark Chocolate Choux a la Creme (RM5.80), as well as their Magherita pizza (RM10.90 per slice). Their pizzas are freshly made, perfect for a savoury bite. The options are never ending here so you might want to take your time, sit down and chill while you think about what to order next.

For something light, check out their wide variety of open-faced sandwiches (RM6-9). Crush Juices are also available for a refreshing drink, and comes in bright flavours like pineapple and soursop. If you're a night owl who takes coffee at night, you'd be pleased to know that they open till late!
