Loved the steak! The salad on the side was also amazing.
[Lavender] It's difficult to see an empty coffeeshop at Cheng Mun Kee whenever you pass by the area. The Signature Pig Organ Soup ($6) is cooked in a pork and salted vegetable broth and contains a bowl full of innards, lean meat, meatballs and tofu. The tangy soup is very appetizing and you will be spoilt with the amount of goodies that they put into the soup. Pair that with a plate of Steamed Minced Meat with Chestnut & Salted Fish and vegetables and you will have a very satisfying meal.
Salted Egg Pork Ribs ($13), Crispy Egg Noodles with Egg Gravy ($4.50) and Yee Mian ($4) for dinner from ι£δΉε³ζ΅·ι²ι in the coffeeshop at 26 Jalan Membina.
Decent and affordable Tze Char fare, but wished that there were more "Wok Hei" in their dishes.
Truly teochew, truly spot on for flavours and truly nice to chew on!
Certified by my dad (old HK foodie) and @eileenongxt. Even though they had been there for so many years, they still remained a very low profit. A true hidden gem!! πππ
Any place that bothers to make their own pesto already gets me excited. The Betterfield cafe goes one step further by putting a spin on things with their own take using coriander. When the pasta and mushrooms are cooked in this unique pesto sauce along with garlic, shallots and parsley, the result is insanely aromatic.
($12.90) a worthy pasta for this price. 5 slices of smoked duck which were well cooked and it was ever so tender! Particularly liked the distinct tastes felt from the duck skin and the meat itself! The pasta sauce was delightfully gentle and did not have a strong cream taste to it. Staff were particularly friendly and this is a really chill place listen to the indie music as one works. Definitely coming back on my "free" day next semester!
We ventured to the far north-east for this, and while I relished the chill-out vibe of the locale β I really felt like I wasn't in Singapore, the food was quite hit-and-miss.
Kudos to the staff who didn't even bat an eyelid when I clumsily knocked my glass of iced tea over while trying to take a photo of a plate of waffles and eggs, and placidly mopped up the mess without casting me so much as a dirty side-eye, which I would have rightfully deserved.
Probably the only one of it's kind in Singapore, this unique take on char kway teow has a garlicky rich sauce coating the slippery rice noodles. The small but plump cockles live up to the stall's name and are fresh & briny to the bite. Get the small portion for $3 as the sauce is quite rich, unless you have a hearty appetite and a penchant for garlic breath.
Bursting with flavour and fantastically juicy everywhere, this is a must-try. I don't know how the chef does it but even the breast meat is like chicken juice central! Each serving gets you half a roasted chicken with gravy, wilted spinach and TRUFFLED mash. Yes, their super-smooth mashed potato is laced with plenty of truffle oil. Mind-blowing stuff.
Claypot Rice is a great dish with well marinated chicken meat and Wing Wah lup cheong, specially bought from Hong Kong.Β
