This was a brilliant mix of bittersweet goodness. Pretty Choux pastry that's crumbly outside but light inside, filled with a layer of coffee cream made from Arabica beans; lightly aromatic. Stuffed in the Choux pastry was sticky salted butterscotch; just without being too sweet, and also chocolate ganache to further enhance the flavour. Perfect dessert to pair up with a cup of coffee!
Coming to you in June is Palette, a new dining concept that will house several "brands", each specialising in different Asian cuisines and Singaporean classics.
One brand to look out for is 90 Bar & Desserts, whose menu comprises cocktails and sweet treats inspired by local flavours. I got a sneak peek yesterday of this gorgeous parfait of alternating layers of mascarpone (mixed with whipped cream and sugar) and crushed Oreo cookies, topped with slices of fresh bananas glazed with butterscotch sauce and snow powder. This is seriously yummy.

This place is well known for its cakes and pastries especially the puffs. So when I heard they have a nice puff I come back and it didn't disappoint. Creamy matcha with crispy puff exterior. Wonderful tea break.

A dish of cajun chicken tenders, sweet potato purée (yum yum!😋) all siting on a bed of parmesan, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses! As if this is not good enough, you topped it with a generous swirl of whipped cream. 😌 Definitely a must-order when you're here! Ps: becareful not to burn your tongue when you try the lick the delicious cheesy cream sauce off the hotplate. 😏😋👍

Unexpectedly this experimentally named dish was great!! Hollandaise sauce is their original, laksa hinted but rather sweet, and nicely flavored. Their home made bread was also great!! I would like to take my friends here next time. This fish costed S$14.90 nett.
They were not really what I was expecting of fries as the texture felt baked and not fried. Soft to the bite but not soggy with an interesting sweetie seasoning. #sweetpotatofries #burpple
Coming back to enjoy the ambience of this bakery (and the food of course). The brioche was a perfection; slightly buttery and eggy, its texture is a mix of pastry and bread. The Shizuoka matcha, as my foodie buddy also pointed out, could have been stronger in taste. Yet, my tea-time companion today loves the matcha "paste", saying that it is "one of the best matcha in Singapore" since it's neither too sweet nor too bitter. I guess it's just my tastebuds getting harder to please.
Why not try @crownbakery's variant of Hainanese Chicken Bread - fluffy soft bread filled with chunks of succulent chicken thighs. Oh, and finish off with a spicy dose of the accompanying chili!
